So for the lazy ones, it comes bigger screen, better chips and camera. The only real new thing, from a business model point of view is the Apple Pay.

This is a huge disappointment imo, Steve Jobs would never release something like this.
First, big screen, 5.5", seriously?? this is supposed to be an iPhone.
Second, what's up with the specs? The hardware is barely comparable with mid-range Android phones, just look at the screen resolution! i thought they would pull something surprising off but no, the 6 basically has same resolution as the 5, while the 6Plus's 1080i is not even trying to matchthose ultra HD android flagship phabs.
Third, ram is still low.
The others - like a lazy re-design; low resolution camera i wont' mention because they aren't so important to me.
But is this surprising? Not really, i mean all the Macbooks are sold for a premium over other brands with better specs. I guess at the end of the day, the stability of the OS can make up much of the slower chip/less ram thing but i just CANNOT BELIEVE about the screen res.

And the marketing people think they can get away with it by labeling it Retina HD...really guys..really. Of course there are more to the screen other than resolution but it is first thing people will notice.
I think at this stage, it is all about keeping the existing customers happy, the market has reached the point where there will be minimal cross over between Apple and Android customer base.

Screen resolution will probably be the precise single factor that will have me keeping my iPhone5 until the next iteration is out. I know the retina has a nice colour, and it's quite true that holding the phone at reasonable distance to the eye, you can't really see the pixels. This was perfectly fine, legitimate 2 years ago, but hey it's nearly 2015, 326 dpi is pretty ridiculous! I had a go on my friend's HTC One M8, which has 441dpi, and it's noticeably different, our eyes aren't dumb. (Off topic but i was very pissed off with an Apple Genius dude, when i said my screen was yellower than the ones on displays and the one he's got, he asked me to look at the big illuminate Apple logo and asked me if i thought that was white or yellow, and then pointed back at my screen and said that it's all down to preception - FXXK! and of course there is more to the story but that's irrelevant) so Apple probably has a different view of the human eye than what we actually experience or see.
So, holding an iphone 5 vs iphone 6, both can run on iOS 8, so all i can expect as an increment, is the 0.7" larger display, 0.6mm thinner, a little faster in loading apps, that's it.

There's nothing leading about this new iPhone. Been there done that. And the presentation was a giant utter mess. The livestream was completely f***ed up.
Highly disappointing.
And NO, Steve Jobs would NOT have done a better job.
