Hot! Jaguar: What's Next?

The final car could turn out stunning.

At least in terms of design, the German manufacturers are presenting little if anything that is genuinely exciting. Some warmed up leftovers with a bit of fresh garnish. Absolutely edible and often tasty enough, but nothing that makes the tastebuds of connaisseurs explode in sheer enthusiasm. Maybe Jaguar can at least supply that "visual kick" that German manufacturers appear to have a difficult time delivering. Whether the new Jag will be a commercial success, is a totally different issue all together.

I hope it won’t like this🤮

Either release the new car later this year or never. 6-12 month delay will make zero difference. Attitudes towards EVs will unlikely have changed for the better next year - especially for flagship cars.

It doesn't help that Jaguar has stopped producing its ICE models.

Aren't they also looking for a new PR/Branding agency?

What a mess.

What do you mean by attitudes changing? Despite all the luddites EV sales have increased year on year in Europe. Cheaper EV's aren't on the way anymore they are here, you can buy them today.

Certainly anecdotal, but the proliferation of BEVs is becoming increasingly apparent here in northern Germany. I witness this on most every grocery run to my nearest supermarket. Ever more BEVs in the large parking areas, the chargers available there (latest count, charging for up to 16 vehicles and increasing, a mix of 150kW and 300kW chargers) well frequented. More and more VW I.D. 7 Variants (I don't care for their looks, but appear to be increasingly popular company cars), many Volvo ES30s, BMW i5s becoming increasinly plentiful. Audi's A6 etron Avant seems to be getting off to a relatively good start. My guess is that we will see a significant upward surge in BEV registrations with the M-B MMA cars, the NKL/NA0 BMW's and the upcoming VW ID1/ID2 + corporate derivative vehicles.

Change takes time and can vary by country and culture. Great examples are synthetic diamonds. Fabolous but some people sifll prefer and more highly value real dimsonds. Mechanical vs digital watches are similar.

A quartz watch is much more accurate and reliable than a mechanical one but it'd the katter that's valued higher.

I could be wrong...but something indicates to me that the production car will have somewhat smoother, more rounded edges than the 00 Concept, hence not appearing that excessively brick-like.

Hopefully, a traditional rear window will be featured.
