Agera Koenigsegg Agera

The Koenigsegg Agera is a mid-engine sports car produced by Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg. It is a successor to the CCX/CCXR. The name comes from the Swedish verb 'agera' which means "to act" or in imperative form "(You) act".
Until Koenigsegg let the press drive their cars...I still won't believe their performance claims.

But anything they say or do is gospel for Internet arm chair racers and teenagers; unfortunate.

Then you have their idol, LamborghiniKS tooting CvK's horn whenever the opportunity presents itself,...... despite the fact his Agera has not been legalized in U.S after more than a year, then promises by Ksegg before that. His intention was to have the first Agera XS in the U.S....

But I don't understand why Koenigsegg and Pagani don't give their cars to magazines for tests. At the begining they did Zonda was all over and Koenigsegg also. Are they afraid or they simply don't need it anymore because they achieved some kind of status? Because I don't believe the BS that they don't have test cars....

Remember this? Ksegg went bizzerk, fitted it with a spoiler, and insisted they lap it again to set a new record. Afterwards, no more journalist testing.

After the Huayra Top Gear lap time (setting a new record), which they were accused of cheating with hand-cut slicks, no more journalist testing. Their PR manager, Luca Venturi (hired when the Huayra came out) wants absolutely zero animosity and attempts to control everything said about their cars - even by owners.

Before that Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond drove every single version of the Zonda - even the ultra-rare Cinque Roadster, Zonda R, and Zonda F Clubsport roadster (my favorite Zonda).

Yeah and also two Zondas S and F version were in sport auto supertest and one Koenigsegg don't remember what version was...

The Segg might be faster but I’d feel a hell of a lot safer in the really expensive VW.
Exactly. The last 150 kph during the braking was a total disaster, my little old Clio has a much more stable behaviour during panic braking, lol. :D

Whats with Pagani not letting the press drive their cars?

Both Top Gear and Harrismonkey has driven the Huayra. It's not like they've released any cars after that...

what is the limit of the veyron/chiron drivetrain? and what is the physical limitations of streetlegal acceleration? (see top fuel dragsters doing 0-500kph in less than 4 seconds)

If you're a physics/mathematics geeks, I highly recommend checking this out.

Also, weight is by far the biggest limiting factor of the Chiron. I was disappointed when the read the press release last year and saw that it was identical in weight to the Veyron.

Just imagine how ballistically fast it would be with a 300-500kg weight loss. The engine is by far the heaviest in a production car, so technically, significant weight loss is possible with a new engine.

i'm subcribed to engineering explained on youtube but i'm not talking about 0-60, i'm talking 0-248mph as a physical limitation, understandbly with these cars the airbrake does become a variable which has to be taken into account when calculating using breaking distances

the chiron might have saved some weight but it doesn't help a lot when the engine (550-ish kg) and the DCT (250kg as said by newey) weight 800kg

Personally, I don't trust to Koenigsegg and Rimac. After they prove themselves in several tests, I will trust them. Youtubers don't count.

They (Bugatti) should've given the Chiron an actual diet. Now everything metric is fair game; and it risks being just a status symbol for the entire lifecycle.

458,0 kph with tailwind
436,5 kph with headwind

Average is 447,2 kph (277.9 mph)

And 0-400-0 kph in 33,87 seconds (Bugatti Chiron: 41,96 s, Koenigsegg previous best: 36,44 s)
