Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

The G11 S-Class had a harder time selling. The W223 is 5 years old and hasn't received a facelift. G70 sales have declined in its second year.

To me, current generation 7er is a much better car overall. Past generations just looked like longer 5-Series models, which I wasn’t a fan of. G70 is definitely a proper flagship now, both design and technology-wise. It looks more upmarket than the S-Class too.
While the current S-Class looks flawless it just doesn’t look like a flagship, more like a LWB E-Class.
They better not mess it up with the facelift, I don’t want to be disappointed again like I currently am with this new GLC.

For generations, the S-Class has looked like the larger Mercedes sedan. The W223 is a fantastic design, and so was the 222. No one seems to mind. Neither did BMW customers. Now, with the NK design language, the cars will look more similar. Is that a problem for you?

Even one day after, it’s a joke IMO.

BMW and Audi seem to be on the right track, but Mercedes desperatlely needs to reimagine itself.

Losing markets there is no excuse to unveil this.

Following most polular design related channels on social media, Mercedes doesn’t exist, while the iX3 and TT Moment 2.0 is everywhere.

While that’s true, the GLC’s official reveal is tomorrow. So that’s probably why it hasn’t popped up everywhere. I wonder what the general public will say about its design. Most of the reactions I saw were negative on IG.

Well....., that text describes it.

We were actually chatting with Liucunyi and I asked him if I was delusional or not, since many people here liked the design of it. Thankfully I wasn’t the only one with these thoughts, lol.
He perfectly described everything here.

M-B designers have taken a less adventurous route. It could be argued that they conscientiously refrained from bringing a vehicle that appears "too unfamiliar". Hence, easily digestible fare is served. A good choice of colors, rims and trim could make the GLC EQ visually "pop". That illuminated faux radiator front shield could be construed as somewhat contrived.

Lol so is he the new design guru lol by the way he doesn't like the design of the car from Munich either

They won’t look that similar, since saloons and SUV’s have a completely different face, and the flagship models are the total opposite from those two, with the split headlights and bigger grilles.
BMW tends to surprise people and be unpredictable, unlike Mercedes. So we don’t REALLY know what the future NK models will look like. Hence the wedge-shaped sports car.

I mean, I don't think I'm wrong for liking the design of it.
I do think that they need a new front bumper design and a new design lead in general, but to my eyes it's not bad at all.
It's not offensively ugly like the iX or the EQE.
