Some sort of "Mythos" themed vehicle perhaps ? Electric powertrain, I suspect.

Based on the different teasers, it looks like a coupe-style concept with a long hood, but I doubt it will go into production.

Hopefully, an accurate precursor for M-B's future design narrative. Let the proportions and curvatures of the surfacing make the statement. Not tacked-on B.S. or gaudy omnipresent monograms.

That should be the primary focus and the only priority, although it is as always, very exciting to see a new Mercedes concept whatever it may be, beyond the fact that as they have shown lately, they can also be a major disappointment.

Its not really resource wasting, that's the entire remit of the design department. Without them you don't really have any forward thinking cars ever.

OMG! E-Class EQ ?

Unless the facelift W214 will look like this, I'm not sure that is the E class EQ.

My first thought was maybe a modern take on the W100 600. Or perhaps the 600 Coupe.
