Gone off track Mercedes build quality - 2019 edition

Reliability≠Build quality
You right, but the video I posted, the guy talks about the quality of the different parts fitted in each cars and how they fail over a long period of time. This is exactly what I experienced with owning my BMW E90 3-series. The interior build quality seems good in the beginning when the car is quite new but over time many parts start degrading and the high quality impression fades as many components in the interior dont stand well for wear and tear after 6 years and older. Examples are pealing of trim on door grab handles, plastic grommets break easily that hold the door trim to the inside metallic frame, plastic bracket breaking that holds the back window inside the door. This is my own experience but many other owners could have had better quality cars than mine.

Ah, my bad @Grosser, there are hidden messages from people in my ignore list. I thought you were replying to me. Do accept my apology for the miscommunication. We are on the same page.
I don't know why I entered capital d in didn't..Probably confused you. No problem

While build quality has nothing to do with reliability, these guys have hit the nail on the head when it comes to a lot of MB interiors of this generation now ending. They look fantastic but feel delicate. And you find yourself interacting with the interior in a compensatory way and it ruins the entire experience of being in a luxury car. I avoid pressing certain buttons on my mum's C because it grates my nerves how they feel and how the surrounding trim creaks every time I press one. That said the car has been pretty much perfect from a reliability standpoint.

And Bald Johnny is back with his usual BMW paid anti-Mercedes rants...

"Mechanical Robustness" has long been a forte of M-B automobiles. Not electronics, fit and finish, hydraulics/pneumatics or material quality (history has witnessed the brand as being "here and there" in these aspects). But when it comes down to the nitty-gritty "nuts, bolts and steel", M-Bs' have usually reigned supreme versus their (not only) German premium rivals.
