Mercedes Vision EQXX

I am pretty sure this is the new A, CLA, B etc.... interior. It's going to be really cool.

The car in its' entirety impresses me, actually. Hopefully, it is an accurate precursor for future M-B cars in terms of technology and design. These new M-B toolkits, from MMA through the .EAs' and onwards should be fascinating.

Please MB , put this interior design in future cars

I dont think so my bro,MB are known for pushing the concept cars to a very high expectation ,then gives a stupid looking actual car,i dont have hope there for the time being but this concept is soo good even better than the EQS one.We can just hope it will make production with as little changes as possible.

VISION EQXX breaks own efficiency record on 1,202 km summer road trip from Stuttgart (Germany) to Silverstone (UK) on a single battery charge.

The journey continues: the most efficient Mercedes-Benz ever built demonstrates even greater efficiency of 8.3 kWh/100 km and impressive thermal management on another long-distance drive

Stuttgart/Brixworth. The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX beats its own efficiency record in real-world driving with another 1,000 km+ journey on a single battery charge. Following its record-breaking maiden drive from Stuttgart to Cassis (France) in April, the research vehicle set the bar even higher, with a 1,202-kilometre road trip from Stuttgart to Silverstone in the UK. After negotiating an autobahn closure and demanding cross-country diversion near Stuttgart, the VISION EQXX crossed the French border near Strasbourg then cruised across northern France at highway speeds to Calais, where it boarded the Eurotunnel. Continuing its journey in the UK, it took the M25 around London then stopped off at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix in Brackley. Waiting to greet it there were the Formula 1 and Formula E experts who helped develop its advanced drivetrain. The VISION EQXX then carried on to Silverstone, where it was welcomed by special guest driver Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman, who races for the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team, opted not to go easy on the research vehicle, taking it up to its maximum speed limit of 140 km/h on the iconic British race track. Making the most of the occasion, he completed 11 laps, using the last of the charge on the pit lane. Throughout the road trip, the VISION EQXX took advantage of its innovative thermal management system to achieve an average consumption of 8.3 kWh/100 km in the face of heavy traffic and summer temperatures.

Cant wait for this car to get actualy built and not change a lot...lot....... lot..... of things

Wow 1200km between charges, that is insane. Destroys most ICE diesels for range.

Absolutely insane. A fantastic milestone for a true Benz. This is how I want to see MB, with truly the best or nothing instead of cheap marketing crap.
The only downside is that it took the 1200 km trip at a pace slower than a fully packed touring car. Like, the average truck will pass you even. 80 km/h for 1200 km long is of course a f'ing joke. I'd go absolutely crazy at that snail pace for so long.

Love this car. It looks splendid and has insane tech.

I know man, 80km/h is a f&cking slow pace in a modern car, that guy must have kept like 100lt of coffee or redbull in the boot lol to stay awake.

87km/h is the average speed. Not constant speed. They went up to 140km/h in Germany. But your average speed will be like 110km/h due to traffic and construction. 87km/h average speed is quite good (Stuttgart -> Brixworth). That's what you would roughly get in that trip. City traffic also ruins the average speed.

Fair enough, 87 km/h average isn't that bad, it means most of the highway was above 100 km/h, which is acceptable.

I think EQXX is confirmation Mercedes messed up with the EQS, EQE, etc cars.

22 months crash programme. Kaellenius knew they are awful, a dead-end, and awful to look at. The whole raised bonnet line, leading to a towering bottom of windscreen, is reminiscent of the Volvo 'P3' cars of the mid 2000s, S80, S60 II etc, when Volvo went the same way, after the svelte, low bonnet, low frontal area, of the previous generation cars, 'P2'.

The EQXX is a glaring repudiation of the current EQ 'EVA2' cars - basically binned already.

The soap bar, high, rising bonnet line, massively sloping windscreen, in practice gave no aero benefit. So what was the point?

EVA2 was Mercedes - the sloth behemoth, just cranking out what the next level up wanted - following orders. EQXX is the skunk works - Motorsport engineers, and younger, embarrassed Merc engineers, showing what they could do.

Might be enough to save Kaellenius's bacon - he's not an engineer - marketing/PR. He probably signed off on the final EVA2 cars, without understanding how naff they were, or not having the courage to say, 'No. That's awful'.

EQXX also shows us once again how the whole 'alien tech', '10 years ahead' Tesla thing is now so circa 2020. Also, 0-60 mph <3/4 secs, for serious, luxury, sporting cars.

You'll sell 5, 10 times as many $/€100k luxury/sporting EVs with 1,000 km range, as those that do 5-600km, but also do 0-60 in ~3 secs.

The boast of 40-, 50-, 60-somethings will not be I hurt myself and my family with greater than 1g acceleration, but I charge only once every 2 weeks/a month - the Eco kudos.

As I said in another topic , man , stop taking the wrong mushrooms ...

1. EQXX is not a car with "10 years ahead" tech that Tesla had ( I wonder who the heck said that , anyway )

This car is just very low drag and very light . And this come with a huge cost .

First of all : Who the hell would buy a +100.000euro car and drive it with those kinds of wheels ? On ANY EV , and ICE car , if you fit ultraslim wheels , you'll boost your range by A LOT. But it will look like crap.

Second : If you will pay +100k on a car , you will want performance , for sure ! With those wheels , you wouldn't get even 7secs for 0-100.

Third : All that low drag comes with a cost . This car is small . Just look at it's height. It's not a family car. But also not a performance car. So , what is it? A proof of concept

Fourth: EQXX has around 250hp . Who in their right minds would pay over 100k for 250hp just to have high range?

2.EQXX is a nice looking car , but I doubt it will make it to the roads anywhere soon.

The platform (MMA), motor, software, battery and even some parts in the cabin in the EQXX will enter mass production (newCLA) in 2024. It is said that the production vehicle will offer a range of 850 km. The first teaser of the vehicle was shown in the past days.

Let's wait and see. I hope they'll make it.
