So as for the Z06, i would love to drive it, but i couldn't own one, i would lose (control, not misplace the car) it somewhere the way i drive.
You'd know if you ever drove one, that its a very fishtaily type of car, and unless your really a pro, twisties would be a problem for a car like this...
Which is the only place (twisty roads) i would preffer a Porsche btw.

As for other road cars, not really, perhaps a Viper, but nothing in the Vette's range! It is the ideal straight line fast car. It really is unbeatable!
I've driven a Corvette C5 Automatic.
If I bought a car like ZO6 or another sportcar I would take some lessons and learn from instructors how to be a better driver and to learn how to handle my car and I would gladly pay for it.

You have driven a C5 auto ?!?!?! Very cool. Agressive even in Auto. Im sure you liked it, but it skips all over the road, and is hard to handle on sharp turns at high speeds.
I agree with you 100%, that to drive a car like the Z06 you need lessons and be very experienced, this car is unreal if you know its weak spots and can control its handling. A very serious car the Corvette.

Exactly. The CL65 AMG can only really perform in a straught-line. The V12 engine adds weight which obviously affects handling. The CL55 AMG is more of a "sports car" even though it's still a GT at heart. The ZO6 is a pure sports car.

TVR. In reality if you want a Z06 in the UK you will pay about £65k and you can get a TVR that keeps up with it for £35k. But the rest of the europeans dont get TVR's so its our british equivelant to the US's Z06.
So yeah if TVR's didnt exist the Z06 is about the price of M5 in the UK.
Great car though Ive seen a vid of it smoking a gallardo.

And just to reiterate, the ZO6 buyer wants a competitive sports car with power and handling. Your average CL65 AMG customer wants a luxuriously fast GT car that can smoke would-be-contenders on highways.

the owner of the CL65 wanted to race him. That has nothing to do with being different customers. We all love to race, whatever powerful car we own.
Its a men thing, a macho thing

the best comparison for the z06 are the viper and 911 turbo...IMO...the z06 did post a redic time on the nurburgring (I would still take an //M3)

Z06 should be less expensive than the new RS4 here in the States if you can get your hands on one for sticker price.Just_me said:if the Vette didnt have 2 people in the car and if CL65 was a stock car, I belive the ZO6 will win. For that money you get a really fast car. In Sweden the price for Zo6 is between the new RS4 and M5. Of course the Zo6 isnt practical but WoWits fast.
