Artura [Official] 2021 McLaren Artura

The McLaren Artura is a hybrid electric sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive since 2022. It is the third hybrid by the company since the P1 and Speedtail, and the first with a V6 engine. The name Artura is a combination of the words art and future. It inaugurates a new carbon fibre chassis called MCLA (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture).
Of the 164 cars hit with a recall, McLaren spokesperson Roger Ormisher told Automotive News that fewer than 50 have actually been delivered to customers. Most of the impacted vehicles are press vehicles or currently serve as demos at dealerships in the United States.
Lol. The car was unveiled 2 years ago and is late. Yet a recall is issued. 164 cars produced but only 50 delivered to customers. Lemme guess, half of those customers are investors in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Terrible PR for McLaren Automotive.

Same. FWIW, my 765 has been flawless. I just think hybrids are complicated. Perhaps too much so for reliability. My 296 doesn’t come until 24 and I’m happy they have time to get the kinks out. SF90’s have been a reliability nightmare.

Can you expand please on that last bit please specifically? I've never heard that before. Is it hybrid electric assistance related?

As for for the McLaren Artura it looks like a difficult baptism. I'm sure McLaren will turn it around, but this shouldn't of happened. Like, at all.

Go into F chat there are pages and pages of owners posting issues.

I like Harry's review of the Artura. He has some interesting things to say about its negative points (too much road noise/resonance from exhaust and he is not so keen on the styling especially the engine cover, the engine noise perhaps not has emotive as the 296) and positive points (better steering and feel during hard driving than the 296 GTB, its easier to buy one and obtain one through McLaren without going through so many hoops such as with Ferrari requiring previous Ferrari ownership and also build takes longer time than Mclaren, its about 50K cheaper in list but when optioned equally it can be 150K cheaper than the Ferrari. The dash and controls ergonomics and ease of use, is less messy and less complicated than the Ferrari)

If this is the 570s replacement, the 720s successor will be spectacular.
I was thinking about this as well, the 720S is already 5 years old and probably due for replacement soon, so will this just get a heavily modified version of the current V8 (without hybrid) and boost to 800PS or will it also receive the V6 but with higher engine power and larger motor for 850PS?

TT V8 motor with hybrid would be perfect. Aimed at SF90 Stradale and Aventador replacement.

The 720s is apparently getting a replacement next year that will be a facelifted model, not a completely new model. That will most likely come in 2025 or 2026. The face lifted model will be called the 750S apparently, have the gearing from the 765LT and some cosmetic changes on the inside and out. The car will most likely be unveiled in February 2023.

Brilliant if true. The 720s is hellish capable without electrification. Do a Ferrari F8 by sprinkling some 765LT parts and learnings on the 720s and boom, it will be the last most awesome non-hybrid supercar.

Delaying replacement gives the new CEO extra time to ensure that the 720s replacement isn't a reliability flop.

It matches up precisely with what I've gleaned. Except my information the final hybrid replacement with be based on the MCLA architecture. All of it including engine so it's a V6 hybrid electric assistance car with possibly more electric motors. Not the twin turbocharged V8.

So the final incarnation of the is as you've said but even more so in this light.

My understanding is the 720S replacement (I won’t comment on any gap model) will retain the TTV8 and provide electrical assistance. Probably RWD. Weight under 1500 kg full of fluids. 850+ total hp. New CEO understands need for model differentiation. We won’t see it revealed until 2024 but probably 2025 with the global economic bloodbath to come. Assuming McLaren survives this reckoning the car will be epic. The 765 is the quickest car McLaren has ever produced, its full model replacement will significantly out perform it.

I've posted this HERE because there's a white Mclaren 765LT in the video and it's very bloody quick.
