100% disagree. The Taycan, and in particular the Cross Tourismo, speak to me like very few cars do. It's organic, its' detailed and it's beautiful. It's got curves and it's got creases, but it is in no aspect over styled.

What is this Sport Tourismo you speak of Jimmy and when will it arrive?

That will be the Cross Turismo minus the black "offroad bits" and high-ride suspension. I'm not quite sure with regard to its' arrival date, but Porsche spokespersons have indicated that it will be the next Taycan model introduction. Maybe within the course of this year ?

I have only come across one article that refers to a Sports Tourismo and it was not confirmed, only that they are looking at other possible variants including a convertible. Though they did say the business case for any convertible is difficult these days.

The Cross Tourismo rides only 2cm higher than the sedan, so it would take some very minor modifications to make the Sport's Tourismo. It would be quite a crowded range though.

I've placed an order for the Cross based on the practicality advantages of the rear seat and boot space over the sedan. The increased ride height is of no real use to me, though I suspect my wife will appreciate it, which is why the Sport's Tourismo has my interest.

Thanks mate. But it's too early to get excited (even though I can't help myself) as it's at least 6 months away, possibly up to 9 months. It will be replacing the X3.

But yes-in essence, the Sport Turismo would be little more than a somewhat "re-contented" version of the Cross Turismo. As far as possible 2 door Taycan derivatives go, Weckback has been far more cryptic and at this point for anyone not in the VAG inner circle, it's really anybodys' guess whether these will ever come to fruition.

Come now Jimmy. You know salesmen know less then we do on GCF.

Realistically, no one needs the offroad elements of the Cross Tourismo, so why Porsche went with this as the second model I don't know. They are masters at milking as much money out of the market as they can, so who am I to question them. Most buyers are picking the Cross for the larger trunk space and rear seating advantages with the extra head clearance.

Interestingly, due to 'Australian Standards' compliance issues, our Taycan sedans already ride higher than they do in Europe. The Australian low is the European medium. We don't have the option for a true low setting, and some buyers have thus been taking matters into their own hands. If our Crosses end up higher than in Europe, I will be doing the same.

Baffling why they didn't make "Sport turismo" the default vehicle and make "Cross Turismo" just an "Offroad package" option to add the black cladding around the wheels and raise ride by 20mm (and current Offroad design package" a further option to add even more cladding and more ride height).

Perhaps Panamera ST take rate may be the answer as the image of an SUV, or pseudo-SUV in this case, are currently enjoying a great amount of popularity. Also, the concept was a more rugged and that also enjoyed an overwhelming reception. And let's not forget by further differentiating it from a regular ol' fastback Taycan, there can exist a greater delta in price and the consumer can feel further assured that there's a significant distinction between the the Taycans. It's about that thick, thick profit margins!

The price differential is about $1500. And the cross comes with little bits and pieces of equipment and packaging advantages to easily justify that.
