Giulia [Official] Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. Known internally as the Type 952, it was unveiled in June 2015, with market launch scheduled for February 2016, and it is the first saloon offered by Alfa Romeo after the production of the 159 ended in 2011.
Another rebadged Dodge or an Alfa based Dodge?

They stripped out that brand to the point that even Alfsiti doesn’t want their crap.
They should start doing and stop talking.

Fiat should be sued for their sabotage on Alfa and Lancia.
It's all Sergio Marchionne's fault. Alfa had a pretty solid line-up until he took over. My favourite recent-ish pre-Marchionne Alfas were:
  • Alfa GTV/Spider
  • Alfa GT (used to own one of these!)
  • Alfa 156
  • Alfa 166
  • Alfa 164
  • Alfa 155
  • Alfa 75
  • Alfa 33
  • Alfa Spider S4
There were loads of great models.

It clearly all started with Marchionne, but FCA did a mess that has no forgiveness, all talks and outdated recycled dinosaurs launched without any strategy.

I have even less hope in Stellantis, as that’s the same politics, talks and together with Fiat it just cannot work. They had one opportunity which was the DS, something to base on, but that’s another long lasting agony with very bad partnershipis and stupid decisions.

I'm shocked you have less hope with Stellantis. Tavares has been very no-nonsense now and is laser focused on per-unit profitablity, which even Alfa has achieved.

Hahah I remember that one last year, that’s a scam taking on investors playing with their demand and production capapcities, the same works for a long non official dead Lancia Ypsilon.

The one and only model that is sold exclusivly in Italy, making Lancia bringing profit selling a dinosaur that’s 14 years old in just… one country🤣

What's the scam? If it's profitable then that's all that matters.

As for Lancia, Tavares inherited Lancia from FCA in 2021. Were you expecting a complete revitalization within just over a year? I'm actually surprised that a next-gen Ypsilon is coming so soon in 2024. Assuming FCA had been doing no work on a replacement that's actually quite quick. The biggest shame is that they aren't scheduled to get any new product after that until 2026 and 2028. Out of all the brands, it is Lancia that has the most stacked against it that is for sure. As long as it keeps making money though there's no reason to kill it.

Just did some reading. Looks like the Ypsilon will be e-CMP platform mates with the Peugeot 2008 and Jeep Avenger. That confirms FCA wasn't even working on a replacement this whole time.

Well, the Ypsilon thing is also a bit like I said, these very low volume cars seem to be treated as small business units that can only subsist under the umbrella of the parent company and I don't think they even see them as "brands"

Hopefully they will lift them soon, applying the Peugeot/Citroen formula to them since it is always pleasant to see Alfas on the streets and I can't even imagine the pleasure of seeing new real and dignified Lancias, although the DS thing is a bad precedent that shows that they are hand full, .........easier said than done

Imagine if we just see a rebodied DS9 as the next Alfa Giulia 😬

Beautiful! What colour?:)

Alfa will be dead after the Giulia and Stelvio.

Peugeot based ones will be f'ing tragic.
Alfa is on another spiral path going downwards. They need a new car fast to get some interest in the brand again. Another small sports car and saloon with gorgeous styling.

It was THIS car that was supposed to elevate them. And it did but perhaps not quite like they'd of hoped.

They've always been somewhat like this. I remember the Fiat Tipo based models if correctly from memory!

On the contrary, I think Stellantis has better product management than FCA did. This is the best chance they have to succeed in decades. Too bad we won’t see the Stellantis-produced Giulia and Stelvio replacements until 2025. The B-segment SUV will be out before then on the PSA eCMP platform but we know that won’t be exciting.
