SF90 [2019-] [Official] All-new Ferrari SF90 Stradale

What do you think SF90 will do in the supertest? Too heavy for records maybe?

SF90 was aprox 1 sec faster around Vairano than 488 Pista in Quattroruote tests, so this should be equivalent to around 6 sec faster around Nurburgring. Pista did 7:00 in the supertest so the SF90 should at least do 6:55. If the batteries doesn’t loose juice at the end of the lap…

Italian cars are often performing extremely well in Quattroruote and their good results are not always reconfirmed by other magazines. Whatever, I am really looking forward for this Supertest ! Tomorrow, Auto Moto (French TV show) will broadcast their test of the SF90, with lap time. They previously tested the Senna, GT2 RS & 720S, so it will be interesting to see how it compares.

Well... I can say I am surprised and now more excited than ever to see the Supertest result.
Auto Moto (French TV show, always same driver) laptime is IMPRESSIVE
SF90 1min22sec861
Senna 1min24sec703
GT2 RS 1min25sec818
I did not believe there would be such a gap !

Which circuit is this?

Faster than Senna sounds a little strange to me…?

Especially considering the SF90 is supposed to be no faster than a LaFerrari. A whole 2s too and 3s faster than a GT2 RS - it was slower on Vairano. It would be very interesting to closely inspect the tyres used.

It is "Circuit de Mortefontaine", a race track which is "road" oriented I would say rather than fast competition circuit. Last straight, the SF90 clocked at 235kph. I honestly was not expecting such a gap. I'll look for a map of it.

A lot of the corners should suit a Senna but the track surface is poor in places. Could be a factor.

Ferrari Fiorano "lap times" are not actual lap times. It's just a marketing tool to indicate where the models fall in Ferrari's range. Hence why all the times are in nice, neat 0.5s increments, the F12/812 goes around faster than the Pista/F8 even though the mid engined cars are way faster in the real world, and why every time someone got timed driving a Ferrari around Fiorano, the times didn't match at all. The lap times are simply completely made up.

So..........Italian of them.

I had no idea. Very interesting, and very silly indeed.
Can you show me a different result between Ferrari's claimed time and an independent run on the track for a certain model? Or Pista vs 812 maybe?

812 vs Pista
F12 vs 488

As for the "independent" Fiorano lap time, Tiff Needell did a 1:34 lap in the Enzo while attending the car's premiere there - and that was also apparently 4s slower than the best time of their test driver, which would be 1:30. Meanwhile Ferrari is claiming a time of 1:24.9. And there was also yet another Tiff Needell time that didn't match at all, but can't remember the details.

Seems like Zlatan bought an SF90 Spider as a birthday present for himself. Say what you want about him.and his ego, but he has got taste in cars
