No we don't have to wait for for it to be revealed. Even if it is a good car, it could have been better if the platform wasn't compromised to accommodate an ICE (or the other way around). The company might save some money/jobs, but there is nothing in it for the customer who buys the EV version (or the ICE version).

That render was just the “potential” look of how the base trim could look like, not the specific spy shot I just posted. So basically my imagination at this point. I was right most of the time with my renders so who knows .
I will do a new one with these spy shots in mind.

The latest software update for those who can’t upgrade to 8.5 has been pretty interesting. The charging curve on my 40 has improved a lot. It will now hold 140 kWh a lot longer than before, I think it’s at least 5 minutes fast 20-80%, it also added manual battery preconditioning and it appears to have gotten faster. 0-100 is now according to a member who timed it on an iX forum I belong to is now low 5’s from a just over 6. My wife asked me if I had done something to the car, she was the first to drive it after the software update. I had a drive it feels quicker. It also received a new font, which isn’t as nice as the old font.

Anyways, there is no iX7. Nor will there be one for this gen at least. What a weird website, and the article is filled with incorrect info. Why are you posting pictures of the X7 concept and claim it's an iX7? Why do you claim a starting price for a car that doesn't exist? Why do you post pictures of MB interiors with BMW being the source?

And what are you even saying here:

The rendered BMW iX7 is just an illustrative image . The redesigned X7 features redesigned front and rear fascias, a closed grille, more aerodynamic wheels and blue accents all around for a distinctive personality. Customer expectations in this class are much higher and the Germans need an electric vehicle designed from
the ground up to have a chance in this segment.

There will be no EV from the ground up in this class for BMW. The next gen X5 (on which the X7 will surely be based again) is a hybrid ICE/EV platform. I guess CLAR, and not NK.

And the blue accents fad will not be repeated in the next gen of EV models. Just look at the NK concepts. That's the direction they're taking.

Converting an X7 to an iX7 would just end up being another compromised vehicle like the i5 and i7, they should make an iX7 from the already very good and could be made better with newer batteries iX.

although i'm not a big fan of the beaver grill, in this case, i quite like it
on the non-M (white) and on the M package (grey matt) version

It's a bit lazy, this is the original base model front.

and this is the front for the old sport model and now the front for the new base model. The only different is the black panels are now body colour.

The new M sport front with horizontal slats in the grille and wide holes on the side looks simply nice. And better than it did before. I also think the updated graphics in the headlights are superior to the ones that came before.

And of course the 670 hp M70 variant is hot.
