X3/X4 [Official] BMW X3 (G01)

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.
Well we can be happy about one thing, its a good thing when a new model drums up this much discussion!

Aluminium switchgear with the HVAC,entertainment and Window lifts taken straight from the 7er. You can even specify the Ambient Air fragrance dispenser. Very handy if you want to get rid of the smell of passing cow shit!:D

The more I see it the more It's pulling at my heart strings. The gunmetal one in the previous page looks the business. The side profile is SPOT ON for a mid size BMW SUV. Sure I would have liked a more aggressive headlight treatment, but for some reason BMW seems to like dumbing down the cheaper siblings.

The interior looks to have nicer detailing to the switchgear than the Q5 which is an outstanding accomplishment for BMW. But then the asymmetric central vents irk me as does the chunky trim shrouding the vents which looks attractive front on, but less so from the passenger side.

The front bumper on the M sport could have been more aggressive and they've held back for the the X3M certainly. And the bumper treatment for the X-line is just a bit unattractive unfortunately.

But all of this is nitpicking really. It looks like BMW will be delivering a class benchmark SUV. It is ultimately an attractive vehicle and will no doubt be thoroughly resolved in terms of driving dynamics and drivetrain. It will be interesting to see how close it gets to the Macan in terms of driver appeal.

The GLC, Q5 and X3 are all winners and they all have their appeal. Until Mercedes updates the Command interface and addresses some poor switchgear I would vote against the GLC. I would have a tough time choosing between the Q5 and X3 and really need to sit in them and have a good drive and long hard think about each, which certainly wouldn't have been the case with the previous generation.

Well done BMW. Well done.

They aced the interior. WOW! It's best in class and strike the perfect balance between curves and masculinity.

What do you guys think about the Hoff kink, as compared to the previous generation?

It's great that they carried over the Hoff kink and big green house of the F25 as it give the interior a bright and airy feel.

Well pointed out. The interior quality should be superb. For me the switch from the F30 to F25 LCI was a big leap in quality. More solid feel through out and a transmission tunnel covered in artificial leather instead of hollow flimsy plastic.

The interior quality shines through even in pics it's well put together ... Although the design might not be appreciated by some the quality is there. Function over form. I have no doubt that the G20 will finally rival the A4 when it comes to quality.

X1 and X3 are telling a good story about the upcoming X5 .

And X7 ... Not to mention the RR Cullinan. (y)

I like the optional chromed buttons etc. I hope that will also be an option in 5er & 6er GT soon. It's natural to be standard in 7er but all the other CLAR models should get this feature optional. Just like eg. certain ceramic controls.

The front-end of the M-Sport is an abomination. Like it's been chiseled with a sledgehammer. Full of over complicated design and hockey-sticks. The luxury line/standard looks much better. The rest of the car is such a vast improvement, it's like it's moved forward by 1.5 generations..

What do you guys think about the Hoff kink, as compared to the previous generation?

I've personally never liked the way the shoulder liner sweeps upward at the C-pillar into the hoffmeister kink on any X3. They used a similar thing, but softened a bit, on the 3GT (and now on the 6GT too) and I think it's the worst thing about that cars design. This time around it's a little less noticeable, but I think that's just because the car looks better overall than the E83 or F25, and it's easier not to notice the odd iffy design cue.

Just my two cents.

Mixed feelings, i think the headlights are way too similar to the 1series, it has exactly the same character. Even that kink up of the headlights near the grille resembles the original F20. In fact the front looks more X1 than the X1.
No 3D grille on X models?
Rear light graphics looks Audi-ish.
Interior is a big improvement, no surprise which is OK. I don't know why some are complaining about BMW not making radical interiors - interiors needs to look modern but at the same time ergonomics is top priority. If there is one design theme, I would imagine there wouldn't be too much variation allowed to maintain the same level of ergonomics, driver friendliness etc.
