One:1 [Official] Koenigsegg One:1

The Koenigsegg One:1 was presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show held in March. Koenigsegg built six cars apart from the car presented at the Geneva Motor Show, all of which were already sold. Koenigsegg took two cars to the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where they were displayed alongside other sports cars such as the McLaren P1, LaFerrari, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Pagani Huayra.

First Koenigsegg One:1 registered in Germany causes a computer glitch
Power was just too much for the registration system

The first production Koenigsegg One:1 has arrived in Germany and has caused a computer glitch in the country’s car registration system.

The Swedish megacar has exactly 1,341 HP which is the equivalent of one megawatt or exactly 1,000 kW, while Germany’s registration system only accepts vehicles with kilowatts in the three figure range. The One:1 wasn’t able to be registered until the system was updated by software mechanics to accommodate the power figures.

We remind you that one of the fastest cars these days has a 5.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine from the Agera R which has been upgraded to 1,341 HP (1,000 kW) and 1,371 Nm (1,011 lb-ft). When it was revealed during the Geneva Motor Show back in March this year, the car was described as the “world's fastest homologated production car” with a simulated top speed of more than 440 km/h (273 mph).

Only six examples of the One:1 will be made and all of them have already been sold.

:eek::ROFLMAO:

Well, I don't know about you, but I actually start to think that the design is starting to look rather resolved.

Let's hope the German owner also owns a LaFerrari, P1 and 918 and will do a drag race with this car!

How does this guy get to drive in some of these exotic cars? Is he a richboy or something?

Keep Calm and Deploy 1341 Horsepower: Koenigsegg Puts Nürburgring Production-Car Lap Record in Its Crosshairs

These days, automakers’ marketing departments are even more fascinated by the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife than their colleagues in engineering. For a while it seemed as if the Porsche 918’s heavily publicized 6:57 lap, set last year, might have settled the issue of how fast a road car could go around what Jackie Stewart once described as the Green Hell. When McLaren said the P1 had also dipped below seven minutes, but refused to give any further details, Porsche’s record started to look almost safe.

But now Koenigsegg is planning to make a serious attempt to go faster next year, with the Swedish hypercar maker confident that both the Agera R and the One:1 will be able to post better times. In the case of the One:1, insiders assure us, “a very significant chunk” could be taken out of the 918’s time.

“When we look at the sector times, we’re already on course for a record,” company founder Christian von Koenigsegg told us during a recent visit to the firm’s Ängelholm factory. “I hate the need to do it, but this is one of the ways you prove yourself in this part of the market.”

The carmaker has already done extensive testing at the Nürburgring, with its determination to explore the limits demonstrated by a crash earlier this year. The official plan is to return in 2015 to try to set an accepted record, first in the Agera R—and then in the even quicker One:1.

On paper, it is possible. The Agera R outguns the 918 by a comfortable margin thanks to the combination of a 1124-hp twin-turbocharged V-8 and a 3160-pound curb weight—that’s 237 horsepower more and 560 pounds less than the hybrid Porsche. And although Koenigsegg’s engineering resources look tiny next to Porsche’s, the company’s test driver—Robert Serwanski—told us that the Agera R was reaching a peak of 250 mph on the Nordschleife’s Döttinger Höhe straightaway during testing. “And remember,” he added, “the Agera is 100 kilograms [220 pounds] heavier than the One:1, has half the downforce, and less power.”

A Nordschleife lap record would certainly help cement Koenigsegg’s claim that the adjective-snapping One:1, which has 1341 horsepower when running on E85 ethanol and weighs 3100 pounds, is the fastest car in the world. Christian von Koenigsegg is also determined that any record would be seen as completely fair, promising to open the company to a far greater level of scrutiny than other manufacturers.

“It’s very frustrating sometimes,” he says. “There are so few stories and so few facts—what is a Nürburgring record? What state was the car running in when it was set? We’re willing to put our car on the scales, let anyone come and analyze the fuel we’re running on, see the tires we’re running on—people can come and check. We want to do this without any doubt.”

And Serwanski’s involvement may turn out to be an equally compelling part of the story. Five years ago, he was a sound-and-lighting engineer and part-time Mazda MX-5 racer, but then he got what was almost certainly the luckiest break of his life after Koenigsegg’s former test driver quit and recommended Serwanski as his replacement. If all goes to plan, he’ll be driving when the new record is set.

“So far, I’ve been fast enough,” he said. “If I can’t get there then we would consider bringing in a specialist driver, but that brings the issue of that driver having to learn the car, as well.”

How fast could the One:1 go in ideal conditions? Koenigsegg won’t be drawn on exact numbers, but we’re told that a time “in the 6:30s” is a realistic target. We’re definitely planning to be there to bring you the full story.

A speed of nearly 400km/h on the Dottinger Hohe straightway by this car seems a pipe dream to me given the 918 achieved 317km/h when tested by AS. The acceleration from the last corner through that straight to reach 400 would have to be really savage and pounding in the seat for the driver!

Well it does weight around 3100 pounds and has 1300 hp, so I hope it's pretty savage. The only question in my mind would have to be how would the aero and tires work for it.

Except Porsche doesn't hold the record Radical does with a laptime of 6.48 set with an SR8 LM, which is as street legal as the 918. It was timed by SportAuto, so it's legit. I believe they even drove the car to the Ring from the UK.

Good luck to Koenigsegg, but I think they are going to have a tough time getting that big old monster of a car round the Ring fast enough to set the record.

I think what they mean is that they're targeting an actual livable daily driver car and not a hardcore track only car.

Work on the bespoke blue Koenigsegg One:1 for The BHP Project has almost wrapped up with only a few touches remaining before testing of the car begins. In the meantime, a selection of images of the bold One:1 have been released.

Most of the body panels of this unique Koenigsegg One:1 are finished in blue tinted carbon fibre while components like the roof, rear wing, splitter, canards, wheels, air extractors, side air vents and part of the bonnet and roof will be finished in more traditional carbon fibre. Completing the look will be triple layered pearlescent white stripes.

In the cabin, all that is left to be done is for the steering wheel to be installed and it will join black leather and a selection of blue accents to mimic the exterior.

In case you didn’t know, the One:1 features a staggering 1 Megawatt of power which converts to 1,341 hp together with 1,371 Nm. This extreme power needs to be read alongside an equally impressive 1,341 kg to fully understand that the Koenigsegg One:1 features a perfect 1 hp to 1 kg power to weight ratio.

The Koenigsegg One:1 is expected to reach speeds in excess of 450 km/h so aerodynamics are key to the One:1 package. Thanks to the new front facia and the Le Mans prototype inspired rear wing, downforce at 260 km/h is equal to 610 kg whilst at 440km/h, the One:1 develops 830 kg. The One:1 is able to pull 2G’s of force in the corners!
