Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae
Money talks...Interesting that it has more PS than the SVJ...
On one hand, that's nice... But on the other, Lamborghini have really made a mess with the Aventador model range. You first announce the SV - what was previously the ultimate incarnation of the model - but then a few years later you announce the SVJ, making the SV pointless. Then you make one billion SVJs so they are not really that rare or special. And then you announce a facelift that makes more power than the ultimate-ultimate model.
The Murcielago SV is how it's supposed to be done. One special model, clearly on top of the range with low production numbers. That's how you build the aura of mystique and desirability around your models.
Indeed, but it's trading the long term brand perception and strength - that will guide the sales and prices for decades to come - for a short term money boost. The same thing as with the million one-offs and special editions which are all just re-bodied Aventadors for $2M+.Money talks...
If anything, Aventador is the defining supercar of the 2010s. Not the best to drive, but definitely the most memorable and iconic. One of the most boring models of the 2010s…. How long can they keep facelifitng it, and making variants? At least they could go the Ferrari way, as they did with the 458, 488, F8 - all serious facelifts, but very noticeable ones. Here we see the same front and the same rear for a decade now, not exciting anymore….
Agree, I would correct myself - Lamborghini made it boring…If anything, Aventador is the defining supercar of the 2010s. Not the best to drive, but definitely the most memorable and iconic.

At any car meet that I have attended, no car trumps the Aventador at being a crowd magnet or getting people to whip our their phones to take a photo - not even the more expensive La Ferrari. If anything, Aventador is the defining supercar of the 2010s. In real life seeing the Aventador is always an EVENT. That amazing soulful and thrilling sounding V12 and stealthy drop-dead gorgeous body, it definitely is a babe magnet and probably is one of the most photographed cars on many people's selfie shots. It is a legend in the making and will be sought after like the Countach in future. One of the most boring models of the 2010s…. How long can they keep facelifitng it, and making variants? Yeah, totally agree, my only problem is that while they make pretty nice and new looking limited series cars, they kept the same design for the Aventador for a decade. They didn’t even change it much with the facelift, this is my only problem. It’s 2021, it could look much better than it did in 2011…In real life seeing the Aventador is always an EVENT.
