LS [Official] Lexus LS (XF50)

Lexus really needs to scrap their infotainment system all together. It's and awful wart on an otherwise beautiful interior. The LS F should be the one with a 600hp turbo V8 someday.

Definitely, the infotainment leaves alot to be desired. That, and I am not a fan of that plastic panel ahead of the front passenger. That could been better executed.

The problem with the new Lexus Enform is it's the same old system with just different graphics. I've had it in a loaner NX for a couple days and it solves nothing. You'd think at least they'd let you use the touchpad as a touchpad we're all used to, but no, you need to press it down to make a selection.

The only upside is Apple Carplay is finally on the '19 models with the touchpad only.

In another note, it's ashame that this lovely interior trim is only available with the $30k Executive Package in the US.

Big surprise but not the best timing. Targets for CO2 emissions are getting more stringent and countries such as the UK are changing emissions rates in a way that discourages consumers from buying V8 and big engined cars.

Wait what? $30k for an executive package? What is included for it to be that much?

Quite dismal. Worse than the previous generation - a car that started strong about 15 years ago but died down this decade. The new one while moderately attractive is being killed by the Germans in general and the S in particular since it now costs about the same as an S
Sales of this car is bad or?

The funny thing is that there are some LS owners who used to have an S-class before they switched to the LS. But they hated the new LS so much that they returned to the S-class. LOL!

Reclining seats in the back with that kirko glass trim and that folded fabric on the doors.

The inspiration series LS 500 does get the kirko glass though:

In the U.S., the executive package is $17,080 or $23,080 if you want the Kiriko glass. You get the rear sets with ventilation, recline, massage, etc. along with upgraded front seats and a rear center console with LCD screen.

The car is sheer quality, but it needs a V8 F version and a new infotainment setup. This LS has turned a lot of long time LS buyers away with it's sportier/ride and handling which resulted in a ride that isn't as good as before and the handling still isn't up to German standards.

Black plastic trimmed window switches straight out of a Camry are ridiculous along with the overhead buttons and switches.

Say what one will...but...

This is a display of some genuine testicular fortitude in automotive design:

I find this car exciting.
