750S [Official] McLaren 750S

Considering it's mostly COVID that caused the Senna's supertest and the 765's to be cancelled, it's very likely that we'll see a supertest of this car around either Hockenheim or the Ring. Best case scenario would be a test on both tracks like the 720S.
On Hockeheim Gebhardt did with 720S with track pack 1:45,5 laptime.

I initially thought this design - with its polarising intake-headlights focal feature - wouldn't age well. I now think it's aging very well.

My mistake for forgetting about this : Driver was not Gebhardt ! It was Uwe Sener as can be seen on the pic.
750S at Hockenheim GP :

720S Track Pack : 1:45:50 (Trofeo R)
765LT : 1:46:20 (Trofeo R)
750S : 1:47:50 (Trofeo R)

Underwhelming. Seems something wrong happened... again.

Again, versions that should be faster, fails to beat the 720S.
More power and shorter final drive is not a match made in heaven for McLarens... After the 765LT this is also slower than the 720S.
But we have to keep in mind that this 1:47,5 min was done by their chief testdriver Uwe Sener, who's a former pro drifter, not a racing driver.
He's 99% of the time slower than Christian Gebhart. :) But definitely not by 2 seconds... :D

They say under the laptime diagram, that they had short amount of time to do laptime and that tire pressure was too high in the rear tyres.

Also 48 degree asphalt temperature if I am reading it correctly. Still, though, it's even slower in straight line than the 720S. 7 years later and basically no improvement despite the increase on paper. And even customer 296s are faster. Mclaren have grown a bit complacent after the huge dominance of the 720S I dare say.

In Auto Bild Sportscars supertest Guido Naumann said that because of greater aero it's slower at accelaration.

The 750S has claimed 5% more downforce. That amount of extra aero will have a negligible effect in the 0-200km/h speed range. The 750S is 30kg lighter, has 30PS more (allegedly) and has a shorter final drive. It should be A LOT faster. Not same or even slower. No doubt, conditions will have played a role, but it should be faster enough that in no conditions it is slower.

I always hate seeing these ordinary track tests in Sport Auto instead of full fat Supertest. But then again, this would probably still manage to do poorly on Nordschleife somehow. It's like McLaren is cursed or something.

At least Auto Bild was pretty much bang-on compared to factory acceleration claims. What the hell happened to this car for it to become so much slower in Sport Auto's hands? And not just off the line, it continued to get slower after 100 kph.

Yes since it was 1.7 seconds faster at Sachsenring, here at Hockenheim it should be faster than 720S with Track pack at least 0,5 seconds. Shows again how ahead of time at many things was 720S when it came out. And yes this is really just a small facelift. No matter how we turn it around...

Sport Auto tests with 2 people onboard (+75-80 kgs) and the surface of Hockenheimring's Parabolica is not as grippy as the asphalt of the Lausitzring's 2.5 km long straights.
