S-Class [Official] Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (Z223)

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.

Are those wheels real? I like a bit of that madness.

If only MB will offer wood trim in place of the gloss black plastic trims....instead of these "special editions"

Not a huge fan of the maybach but it's nice to see a V12 Mercedes car in 2023.

It's.....not.....terribly over-the-top? Except for the needless fake vents, I don't hate this Mansory effort. By their past efforts, this is relatively subtle. WTF?!?!?! It's like dogs and cats living together!
I too share same opinion, this Mansory is not bad.

Even going the Maybach Manufakur route, you'd still get that center console:

So here is a controversial opinion/question… historically V12s were synonymous with power AND refinement. I remember watching countless videos with the ‘coin’ test.

Add to that the smooth delivery and silence (before everything has to become a loud fart machine), they were the pinnacle of automotive excellence.

I remember when I went to take delivery of a W220 S430 in Tektite grey many many moons ago, there was a champagne colored S600 being sold to a middle aged lady. Jaw dropping.

Anyway without digressing any further, do you think the powerful electric car ethos (think anything with 500+hp and planet orbit changing torque) replaces the fundamental use case of the V12?!?

Yes and no.
The V12 is special because it is.
Electric is for sure smoother for most people but people who want a V12 want it because it's a V12.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
