Minus all the concept doodads - the special headlights, the center fuel cap, the amazing wheels, the retro mirrors, I think it looks pretty plain jane. Still A fantastic 150k GT3 cab, but not 300k roadster special.

Not a fan of the heritage paint scheme either, which apparently costs 25k, so even worse than weissach package. Porsche milking the youtuber/instagramer "have to make 30 min video describing how I configured my car to be more special" market?

Exactly spot-on. I know the center fuel cap was a no-go, but the other elements could have been possible. I mean, I still want it...that engine in an open-top setting is the main selling-point for me. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Perfect spec: Irish green, either cognac or chocolate leather with Pepita (houndstooth) seat insert, gunmetal wheels.

Looks like a poor man's 918 with weird proportions.

Like any 911 that isn't a coupe, awkward. Yet spectacular.

The various gen 911 Speedsters have always been my least favorite 911s'. Solely from the exterior design standpoint, it is the coupe that has never failed to fascinate me. And despite the extra heft, the 991 Targas look tremendous. From the 996 onwards, the cabs look better with their tops up.

Some answers from someone at the press drive -

ITB to offset effects of OFB.
US cars won't have OPF, but will have some mesh in it's place to reproduce the same back pressure as the OPF exhaust, so cars for different markets won't need different tunes.
The new exhaust lighter then the old 3 muffler system by 22 lbs, but in the old exhaust system, you could easily remove the side mufflers to save ~40lbs. In the new one, you probably can't with out a ECU tune cause of pressure/flow sensors.
