Taycan [Official] Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is a battery electric luxury sports sedan and shooting brake car produced by Porsche.
And to think, not so long ago, many here thought EVs were only for good for straight line and not at the track.

Many here still should think that. EVs are f#cking laughable on a track. This Taycan can do one or two rounds and that's it. It's done for the day after. Please don't drive or touch it anymore.

No way you'll see one on the Nurburgring or any otgher track. Only for the YT views, not in real life.
And I also think a Hyundia Ionic 5 N is more fun than this, in the end. For a third of the price.

As for the FL of this car.....giant MEH from me. Horrible interior, and Chinesified exterior. Look at all these lines in the front.
Dislike the direction Porsche is taking, partiucularly with these screen infested interiors. Absolutely disgusting, FOUR f'ing screens.

The Performance Battery Plus is incredible. Charging performance on another level. Far from sad that this renders my GTS as old tech, I'm looking forward to how much better my next Taycan will be.

T-Ford is the right thing for you. Or horse and carriage.

I am not so taken with the front end. Pre-FL, it had a more distinct Porsche identity from other generic EV front-end. This looks more stream-lined and smooshed.

Also, not so crazy about the over-abundance of screens, but that's what the people want. 🤷‍♂️

Why is it "done for the day" after 2 laps?

That's exactly it, the great and most beautiful differential of the Tycan is gone, even though it is an LCI and something "must" change, I don't know if it was necessary to go that far.

19 inch base alloys.

Common sense if prevailing. Finally a prestige car that doesn’t start at 21 inch alloys with low profile rubber.

I didn't know the facelifted Sport Turismo was also revealed, but here it is -

Because it will most likely have destroyed its tyres if youre capable of meaningful lapping.

Oh and you have to find a charger. Not many of those at the nurburgring considering the amount of cars there at any one time

Another day, another half hashed update in terms of looks.

Renders the old car obsolete. The old taycan had dire residuals and now it will be in further free fall.

This taycan is overpriced, overweight, and over powered.

Will be bought by business directors on a business lease for tax savings and then we will all sit back and watch the colossal depreciation that will follow.

Its a shame porsche will shortly cease to produce real cars.

How many of these updates will filter through to the Etron GT? Audi also need to make an Etron GT Sportback.

Your world view seems to be entirely based on the UK.

Your world view seems to be entirely based on the UK.

No sane person is going to buy a second hand first gen Taycan.
It's dead and only the Lord knows what is going to happen with these 100+ Euro EV cars that rapidly become worthless. It's not like they can ship them to Africa or the Middle East like they used to do.
So, vast depreciation and sky high insurance. Yeah, that's going to work. What a clusterf#ck of a mess.

Private people DO NOT BUY THESE CARS (big expensive EV cars, not the Taycan per say). And the coin is slowly dropping in the automotive world.

That was the on topic part. For the off topic part I'd like to add that a world view based on the UK is still infinitely bigger than a loop in your head.
Whopper.

Do cars not depreciate outside of the UK then?

Its a odd comment to make to someone who previously lived in Germany and Jamaica.

Maybe you just take it personal because you own a obsolete tech taycan

Yes. This week I was targeted by this ad. Never seen Porsche advertise 24 hour test-drive. You can probably keep one for a weekend if you ask.

Yeah ive also heard that porsche mayfair had 6 cancelled new orders because the future owners saw pre-registered vehicles available at huge discount so they went that direction instead

Whopper.

I suspected Taycan resales would tank as it's performance and range were just acceptable when launched. With EV tech advancing so rapidly I suspected it would be redundant by the time the FL arrived. I'm glad I rode the wave well and bought and sold 2 Taycans in 2022 when demand was so hot.

Putting aside the quality and reliability issues I have had with the 911, I enjoy every single moment I have driving it. It's special.
