Porsche GT4!

^Ha, just got it only last week and it is been crappy weather here, so just ~100 miles so far. Initial impressions - serious machine, not playful thing like the GT4. Feels raw - like the 997 GT and unlike other 991/981 GT variants I have experienced. Steering has no slack and turn in is much sharper than the GT4. Balance - doesn't feel rear engined like the 997 cars anymore. Ride - I don't know how Porsche does it, but it rides very well considering hard the springs are - not as good as GT4 but springs are more than twice as hard. With front lift and rear camera, it is a pretty usable car (if not for the big ass wing and the blinding green color :D). Engine - have been sticking below 6k so far, so missing the good stuff. But very torquey everywhere and itching to rev. PDK is still the open question in my mind, have to still get used to it.

Why you lucky motherf%cker!!! I knew it!
Mega congrats and (not so many - she's a collector's dream) happy, high-quality miles with big smiles. Damn, Sunny, the one.
It doesn't get better - 997 GT3 RS with a stick and now this with PDK. Just a splendid combo.
F%ck this shit, I'm flying to Frisco in the morning. Getting that booking for 'Seca s...

Thanks Martin. FWIW,my 997 is a vanilla GT3, not RS :). And always welcome!

Stunner, and i love when people go ape shit with colors on sportscars.. never go black/silver or grey.

My cousin just got a Boxster GTS in crayon with a red top..

Keep us in the loop, a video of a drive where you bring it up to 10k rpm would be a treat!

When you posted that you got rid of the GT4 for something "green," I was all like

because I think you mentioned you were considering getting something economical for the daily grind.

But then you posted the Green Monster, and I was like

Tricky, tricky, Mr. Sunny. :eusa_naug

Congratulations on an absolutely epic ride!

PS: I echo LaArtist's sentiment. We need more details!!!!!!!

Wow, congratulations @Sunny. I figured you go Touring.
Thanks. And yea Touring was the plan. An acquaintance had a signal yellow touring he was selling cause he got 991R, it was tempting. But when I drove another .2 manual, I just didn't connect with it. It is a great car, but I much prefer the 997 gen GT3 manual experience. Also had a RS allocation at MSRP, which made it an easy choice.

I honestly don't think you will ever regret having PDK. I can't imagine how good it must be in your GT3 RS with that insane engine you've got in there. I don't think PDK detracts from the viscerality of driving. I think it actually enhances the experience because you can get on with focusing on the precise steering, braking and throttle inputs demanded from piloting such an intense machine.

Congrats!

I love that you didn't get the weissach pack. Car looks so much better without all that exposed carbon and let's be honest, the "stock" RS is more than fast enough.

Thanks. Yea, don't like the fast and furious look of the Weissach package hood. Though Porsche fixed that by offering a painted hood option weissach too. But still made no sense to me - it is only 13 lbs lighter. For $18000! And you can get 12 of those 13 lbs for ~$5k (CF anti roll bars) from the parts dept if one really thinks they are that good a driver to make a difference. So you are just paying for the badges.
