Panamera Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.
It's in much the same place as in the current Panamera which in AWD guise has the front driveshafts exiting from the rear end of the crankcase.
Martin, I think Sunny has a point.

In the Panamera AWD. the driveshafts pass through the crankcase:

While in Audi's case, they don't pass through the crankcase:

I think that from the photos that are available at this point, it's very hard to tell, which one it is...

I know. That's what I said.

Yip. Know that too... :)

Neither. RWD is depicted in this Porsche Panamera concept. Point is, the engine is in much the same place as it would be in a current Panamera. If it were an Audi sedan drivetrain the engine would be further forward.

Oh. I got it all wrong, I understood something completely different. Sorry for that! My mistake.

It`s very nice but I`m not completely sold on C-Post going on to the rear, way too much VAG going on. The front and interior are awesome.
(Look for the high end sports and luxury cars to adopt the TFT-screen to replace the old fashion bottons, even in the center stack of the dash as this concept suggests. This is the wave of the future and will quickly find it`s way on the production lines.)

Now I'm waiting for BMW 6er GT to be added to this mix ... I guess luxury sportcoupe wagons (5dr shooting brakes) are very IN right now ...

Where would that leave the 5GT. (Thay pretty much goofed that up)

5er GT is something else completely. Like MB has the R and CLS Shooting Brake...

I know... just the idea of a 6GT shooting break would be too close to the 5GT design wise imo. BMW shares too many design themes and are simply not unique enough.

The R-Class is more of a mini-van to the CLSSB. Those two are much more distinctive and don`t share anything.

I quite like it, and it does look alot more palatable than the current Panamera. But I would wager that had this come out as the original Panny, alot of folks would have still labeled this awkward. The whole "Shooting Brake" trend wasn't even its infancy when the Panamera came out, and the Ferrari FF really made the whole niche more vogue and acceptable. The original Panny, in a way, primed us for a design like this. That said, the interior's gorgeous and I love love the slimmer light profile in the rear, especially as its continuous along the entire width of the car. Practicality, speed, beauty...what more would you want in a car?

If Porsche makes this, this is going to be such a big hit for them... considering how many people pay through their nose for Panamera despite it's fugliness.
