The famous Newspaper Motorcycle news wrote lately, that, thanks to Brexit new 2 Stroke bikes could be street legal in the UK , although they are of course not Euro 5 complaint.

How cool is that.

Probably as cool as it is trivial. It's a tiny market, bike sales are low, the most popular bikes are Honda PCX-125s, and those riders won't give a toss about 2 stroke engines. Sure, there's probably going to be people in the 125-500cc bracket that can get something new... for a few years at least, since motorbikes (Euro5+) or not, are still under the ZEV axe... but honestly, allowing (more) smokey two strokes back on the road does little to address anything for 99.99% of the populations mobility requirements.

I guess it’s primarily for the enthusiasts.

The main problem in the UK is your stupid car tax because of the ZEV mandate.

Golf R - combined energy consumption: 8.5-8.1 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 192-183 g/km; CO₂ class: G.
3300£/yr for humble Golf R, that’s nuts.

The Golf R isn't that humble!

But yeah, it is a bit of a stupid system given an XM or M5 would be less.
It realistically should be proportional to the sticker price of the car.
But to be frank, being a car enthusiast is a privilege. Especially these days. If you can afford a brand new Golf R, you can afford the taxes.

You'd be hard pressed to find a car with a worse image than a Golf R (or GTI) in these parts.....
What they all have in common is a ludicrous rattling horrible aftermarket exhaust. The clientele loves that.

VW Golf's image is completely gone. Normal people don't want to be seen in a Golf anymore.

In Switzerland it’s different, the R still has an excellent image.

The RS3 is even better, because it sounds better than A45S and the Golf R.

Regarding the best country on the world, I would say in the countryside yes, in the cities not anymore.

Because of safety concerns, there are quarters where you shouldn’t walk alone at night.

I live rural, and I can say that it’s surprisingly quiet.

I love living rural in Norway, I wouldn't move to one of the bigger cities. Safety concerns are an issue here as well, the fact is there are far too many immigrants from less desirable countries who brought there less desirable traits with them. This is a problem across Europe except for countries like Hungary and Poland who have refused to take them.

Which leads onto my next point the refugee system is broken, it was never intended to be a path toward permanent residence and citizenship, it was designed after WW2 as a system where people could move and live until there home country was safe to move back to. It needs to get back to the basics.

Yesterday's communal elections in Germany's most populous federal state, Northrhine Westphalia, indicate to me that broad segments of the German electorate tirelessly vocally express that they "DEMAND CHANGE"...but in reality, they don't REALLY want it after all. I say stop bitching and moaning. You get what you elect with all consequences resulting from it. More heaping servings from that "Same old, same old buffet". Deal with it.

Then again, is does become difficult when there is currently NOTHING that is even remotely electable.

Sad day today.

My trusted S60, the only car in my stable that refused to break down, did just that. Last week, while on the highway, it started having severe misfires. I had it towed home, replaced spark plugs and coils, but nothing got better. I replaced the coil plugs and most of the wiring loom, but still nothing. So we checked compression, of which the first cylinder had none.

At 285.000 well maintained km's, I never expected something like this. I'm not pissed. I'm not angry. I'm just sad.

We have a diagnosis. A part of a valve is missing.

I'll fix the damn thing. I'm not giving up.
