Thought I'd remind myself of this thread... the photography has fallen off a cliff this year thanks to other personal and work commitments, I have taken a few though, nothing to write home about... but I've decided that my goal for the next couple of years is follow the Dakar first hand with my camera... without a doubt I think it generates some of the best motorsport photography there is.
Anyhow.. I've not been near a race car in months
so here's some arty crap I tried...
The Berlin Wall
Baker Street
A Dying Wasp... this is another macro shot taken by holding my 50mm prime lens the wrong way around, against the front of a longer lens. Normally you'd want to do this with a lot of light, a lens-lens adapter ring, and a tripod, as it gives an insanely short focal length and aperture issues. However, I'd had a pint at the Euston tap, a pint at the Doric Arch and at least one more in the Bree Louise Public houses, and it was all hand held... I quite liked the result.
The Amazing Pinhole DSLR Spiderman!
This is a rubbish photo, no question. However, this was taken without using a lens at all on the camera. Instead, it uses a pin prick in a piece of aluminium (taken from a beer can), stuck over a bigger hole drilled in the body cap for the camera... it is in effect a Digital Pinhole camera. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did, the next attempt will feature a smaller, more precise hole to sharpen up the image.. I'd like to perfect this ready for some Autumnal shots in my local woods. It also does a good job of showing up all the dust on the camera sensor!
Couple of old holiday snaps...
Wastwater
Great Gable
...
And, okay... a couple of racing cars (from last year
) too...
BMW Z4 GT3, Nürburgring 24hr
Nürburgring 24hr
Porsche doing Porsche things..
Audi R8 LMS
Nürburgring GP Strecke, N24 2015, Night time
That's all for now...
