The Mercedes-Benz EQS (V297) is a battery electric full-size luxury liftback car produced by Mercedes-Benz Group and part of the Mercedes-Benz EQ family. It was released in September 2021 in Germany and the fourth quarter of 2021 in the United States.
Mercedes-Benz Cars delivered 501,600 (-15%) vehicles in the first quarter.

Global demand remains strong, with deliveries of Mercedes-Maybach and S-Class increasing 161% and 67% respectively.

Mercedes-Benz xEV sales rose 37% (plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles) to 67,800 units, of which 21,900 (+210%) were BEVs. In total, Mercedes-Benz Cars xEVs now account for 15% of new car sales. In Europe, Mercedes-Benz xEV deliveries account for 33% of total sales.

Sales of high-end vehicles (AMG, Maybach, G-Class, S-Class, GLS and EQS) reached 76,200 (+1%).

The best-selling model remains the GLC, with 100,400 units sold in the first quarter of 2022.

Maybe because they're obeying the rules of the forum by not just dumping videos in threads? This is a discussion forum. Just posting a video doesn't add anything to the discussion if you don't comment on some aspect of it that prompts further discussion.

I assume most people are aware YouTube exists, in which case they can go there and find videos to watch.

Good showing for EQS in the US

"
Mercedes-Benz reports a noticeable decrease in car sales in the US during the first quarter of 2022. The brand sold 62,251 cars (down 20.5%), although the sales of vans increased 17.4% to 13,688.

The most interesting thing for us is that the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS is doing great, as 2,091 units were sold in Q1 2022 (after 443 in Q4 2021).

That's really not bad compared to 4,817 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (up 362% year-over-year). Who knows, maybe at some point in the future the all-electric flagship will match and exceed its conventional counterpart.

Cumulatively, Mercedes-Benz sold more than 2,500 EQS in the US."

I think the real world performance of the EQS and S-class will be very different to the picture painted on this forum. There is an obvious dislike for the EQS here, and to a lesser extent the W223 (simply because people were so in love with the W222), and the sentiment on here is not going to necessarily reflect that of the market.

For German speakers...

Horst Lüning's vlogs are often very entertaining and always informative. The aerospace engineer, business proprietor, investor, sociopolitical commentator and Tesla-affine automobile fan compares his recently acquired M-B EQS with former Tesla S models previously owned. The presentation is quite "techy" but very informative, spiced with occasional entertaining bonmots:

Horst Lüning also alludes to an upcoming English-language EQS-dedicated vlog series that he will present as well.
I must say, Herr Lüning's personal EQS is very tastefully configured. It looks quite breathtaking, in fact.

I watched some of that and didn’t really agree with him. He seemed to just not love the EQS and spent his time nitpicking things that sometimes weren’t even valid. For example, he didn’t know how to access the rear cup holders and then proceeded to rant about how there weren’t any (false).

EQS vs. i7-an interesting battle for unit sales supremacy.

Although we won't be seeing particularly large numbers of neither the EQS nor the i7 here in the EU, I have a nagging suspicion that the EQS will come out on top. Not that my suspicion is really qualifed, mind you. It's simply that the EQS, for a very large luxury automobile, appears to fit more comfortably into the current Zeitgeist. It appears to mask rather than celebrate its' enormous dimensions. And while polarizing, the exterior design is actually quite clean and even moreso, exudes an air of "higher functionality". And spec'd with the Hyperscreen, the interior is a pretty cool place to be (I've only been seated in a stationary showroom example, so what do I know).

Another weird observation of mine:

Viewing an EQS parked next to a Tesla Y, I sense a strange kindred spirit between the two automobiles. I know that this may sound ridiculous. But somehow, I find myself thinking: "Yep-these are cars of "The NOW"." Of course, what the future holds in store...???

The EQS has been well received in the press despite people not exactly liking the styling. It has controversial looks and just like some other cars that we initially disliked cause of their styling, will start warming to its unusual appearance. For the way it drives as well as its electric range and tech, it certainly is up to the usual excellent standards by any other Mercedes. We will see in the upcoming months how the sales figures will be and whether Mercedes did take a gamble in the right direction with the styling.

I much prefer the AMG EQS front end as it doesnt just have a plain black shiny grill but actually some vertical chrome lines for a Panamericana appearance
