3 Series Spy photos: E92 Coupe / E93 Convertible Facelift

The BMW 3 series is a line of compact executive cars manufactured by the German automaker BMW since May 1975. BMW's best selling model, it is the successor to the 02 series. Since 2013, the coupé and convertible models have been marketed as the 4 Series. The M version of the 3 series, the M3, debuted with the E30 M3 in 1986.
Speaking of engines, the LCI brings a new version of the 320d with 184PS and the 323i with 190PS. Both are available for all models including the E90 and the E91. Maybe there's also a 318i for the Coupe.

Updating my earlier post. The N54 is about to get replaced by the N55 across the lineup. The only models to keep the good old N54 are the 335is (E92, E93), the Z4sDrive35i and the Z4sDrive 35is.

So I assumed the N55 will debut on the next gen 1er and the current 1er will also retain the N54 as its in the final phase of its life cycle?

Thanks.

That is poor use of English on the press statement though. "10% reduction in fuel economy" should read either "10% IMPROVEMENT in fuel economy" or "10% REDUCTION in fuel consumption".

335is? That's new right? LCI 335i coupé with 340 hp/500 Nm? Sounds hot!
But isn't it sort of weird that the regular Z4 sDrive35i will be the only model with the N54, other than the 'i s' models..???

The M version of the current 1er will have the N54, for sure. It's not mentioned on that internal/press statement with the Z4 35is/335is is because it doesn't exist yet...But it looks like the regular 135 will get the N55 engine, like all the other Bimmers....

No proof reading regarding internal material, which I assume the above attached file is meant to be? Furthermore, it is material from BMW Canada and they are practically French ;)

Why should the 1er M have the N54?.

Maybe because it's an outgoing model and then they wouldn't premier the reworked N55 on it ?

Not any more weird than having non-DI engines for the other Z4 models.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. My understanding is that the 2011 135i -- just like the other 2011 x35i models -- will get the N55, the 35iS models get the N54 and the M1 will have an modified N55 engine (probably similar to the modification of the S63).

I meant that Canada is basically French. Hence, may not care much about how they use their English.

It was a joke and we can leave it at that :usa7uh:

Oh Ok. Fair enough. I was just confused and wondered if you realised that the significant majority of Canadians are English speaking. Based on "first official language", 73% speak English and 23.6% speak French.

Sorry, not been following the thread but will the cabrio be facelifted at the same time as the coupe?

it's a strategy BMW has always worked to.
For example in 2006 after the NAIAS Debut of the Z4M, Z4 Roadster LCi we unveiled the Z4 /Z4M Coupe prior to Geneva. In 2007 it was the 1er LCi and 5er LCi/M5 Touring , 2008 saw the M3 Cabrio , right in the middle of the NAIAS.

Geneva this year will also showcase a much larger display area for BMW with Chrysler/jeep now moving to a Joint Fiat stand , Mercedes will inherit the corner stand allowing it to expand it's display with the BMW taking over some exhibition space from the Mercedes-Benz stand.

Which is needed because BMW will be showcasing over 10 World and European Premieres including cars taking centre stage for the first time including the 5er all models from the 520d to the 550i will be displayed , a larger M presence will be on show as will the M3 GTS making it's official debut (No M Division cars are on show in Detroit) As will expansive showcases for Efficient Dynamics products. And other new models such as the 3er Coupe and Cabrio.
