Can you explain what you mean? It's competitors have 3.0L forced induction engines too..
Not with two empty cylinders blanked off in the block they don't.

I'm more asking for a technical explanation, as I'm not very familiar with the architecture of the V6 design Jag is using. Are you saying the architecture/size of the engine is the same as the V8?
Apparently, according to Autocar, higher-powered derivatives of the XE will be offered with Jaguar's existing 3/4 V8 - the supercharged V6. That's a lot of unnecessary metal to carry around in your smallest saloon.
You know the idioms "not the sharpest tool in the shed" and "a sandwich short of a picnic"?
I've a new one just for Jaguar engineers: "two pots short of a V8".

This is cheap looking, dated disgrace IMO. Looks like a 90's car. Exterior is winner though.

Nope, I am saying that the V6 Supercharged uses the actual 8 cylinder block (housing a longer-than-necessary crankshaft) with a 3 cylinder head per bank, the base of which is extended to blank off the empty unused cylinder.
The picture evidence is enough to support my theory and I'm 99% sure that this is the case. It's little wonder that there is no official engine cutaway / component diagrammatic collateral from JLR.
