Thats a stunner in the making. I am thoroughly excited now.

Relieved to see whoever designed the DB 11 didn't get to ruin the Vantage replacement. This is what the next generation of Aston Martin should look like.

Guys it seems like we've forgotten about James Bond's DB10. The Vantage is the production version with some changes

That fender vent is there. Sigh............

M
Not in the same way as it's applied in the DB11 I don't think. The black duct tape is a ruse and diverts attention from the actual vent which is lower down and not directly integrated with the wheel arch circumference - as it is in the DB11.

Don't judge, but I mistook it for the new Supra when I saw the latest spy shots on another site from the front.

2019 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Driven Hard On The Nurburgring In Newest Spy Photos

More so than the DB11, the all-new V8 Vantage is crucial for Aston Martin’s future. The sports car of the range and the cheapest model in the lineup, the V8-powered Vantage is all but confirmed to offer a good ol’ six-speed manual transmission.

Dr. Andy Palmer, the chief executive officer of the Gaydon-based automaker, repeated time and time that Aston Martin won’t kill off the stick shift in favor of zero to 60 times. Beyond the three-pedal setup, the next-generation Vantage has been described as being the “best-handling Aston Martin to date.” Those are the words of Matthew Becker, former chassis expert at Lotus and the current head honcho of vehicle attribute engineering at Aston Martin.

The newcomer follows in the footsteps of the current Vantage, who was introduced in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show and improved over the years with a bigger V8 engine, V12 power, better transmission, and various motorsport-oriented models. It’s only natural to expect the 2019 Aston Martin V8 Vantage to usher in the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 from the DB11 at some point in the future, but in the first instance, Mercedes power will suffice.

Displacing 4.0 liters, augmented by two turbochargers, and related to the M178 V8 in the Mercedes-AMG GT, the force-fed plant benefits from a unique exhaust tone in this application. Bearing in mind the engine is good from 467 to 612 metric ponies and the current Vantage’s 4.7-liter N/A V8 develops 437 PS in the S variant, there’s a wide range of tunes Aston Martin can employ for the all-new model. The output will be lower than that of the DB11 V8, which is rated at 510 PS (503 hp) and 675 Nm (498 pound-feet) of torque.

Speaking of the DB11, it’s easy to observe the styling of the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is different. Edgier and more dramatic, the exterior design will be offset by an interior akin to the grand touring-oriented bigger brother. The fixed-head coupe is confirmed to be revealed later in 2017, while the Vantage Roadster is reserved for the second part of 2018, after the DB11 Volante.

They better offer a manual!
I doubt it.

2019 Aston Martin Vantage Spied With ZF 8-Speed Automatic Transmission

Designed by Henrik Fisker and more of a sports car than the grand touring-oriented DB9, the Vantage introduced at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show is drop-dead gorgeous, even by today's standards. But after 12 years in production, the V8-powered Vantage will have to make way for an all-new model.

As you know from the teaser images released by Aston Martin in the past couple of weeks, the newcomer will be revealed in all its glory later this month. Deliveries are most likely to start in the first quarter of 2018, with the U.S expected to get the Vantage for the 2019 model year. So, what’s up?

For starters, the 2019 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is bite-the-back-of-your-hand beautiful. The proportions, the DB10- and Vulcan-inspired styling, the full-width taillights, there’s a lot to like about the entry-level model. And speaking of entry-level, Aston Martin will shoehorn the Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood of the V8 Vantage. As you can tell from the newest set of spy photos, ZF's 8-speed automatic transmission is also featured.

Aston Martin head honcho Dr. Andy Palmer more or less confirmed that there’s room for a manual transmission in there too, which is appropriate for the company’s best-handling car to date. About the best-handling part, that comes from a higher-up within the British automaker who used to do chassis development at Lotus before he joined Aston Martin. And of course, the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 from the DB11 will give birth to the all-new V12 Vantage. The ultimate interpretation of the next-generation Vantage will reportedly go official sometime during 2019 (for the 2020 model year at the latest).

On a related note, 2018 will see Aston Martin redesign the Vantage GTEendurance racing car with the underpinnings from the all-new model. Based on one of the teaser pics released by the automaker, it’ll borrow the full-width taillights from the road-going car, but it’ll up the ante with a big wing.
