It might come across as familiar because it has the same headlights as the MC20 and a familiar style grille.

The design of the old car was lovely. The main problem was the dinosaur tech, drivetrain, poor reliability and steep depreciation.

People say this here all time, but it's sorta true here that it looks like a facelift of the previous car. They obviously think this shape is one to stick with. It's still pretty, but some won't realize it's a totally new car.

Keeping with that shape, something in the 3200GT/MC12 fashion could have been better.

Honestly, in person I loved it all. I too was a bit negative about the headlights but it really all does flow nicely.

Price and Maserati reliability will be the clinchers. Maserati fans will love this car but to succeed long term the brand needs to attract non-maserati customers.

Rolls-Royce has managed brand evolution extremely well and now appeals to a young audience that 15-20 years ago wouldn't consider the brand.

That is one of the worst product release videos I’ve ever seen. Is the weird looking driver even Italian? Where did Maserati elegance go?!

I like it very much, I am so happy to see Maserati getting their mojo back with designing pretty cars again. This car might look a little like the previous model, but when you study them in detail they actually don't look that much alike. The front and rear lights are different in shape. New one looks alot like the MC20.

The previous model has aged very well, its a classic design that is timeless and still looks like a beauty.

Indeed. A distant cousin of the Roma for less money. There is a market for that type of car as long as its not overpriced and completely suck to drive. The new SL doesnt have Italian flair but is one hell of a package that would make me eat schnitzel instead of mushroom tagliatelle.
