C-Class W205 W205 C-Class Facelift Spyshots

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.
Will Mercedes get rid of the runflat tyres for the FL W205?

Already optional (R66) with many tire/wheel combos. :)

Thanks @Wolfgang

I have to say that ride comfort is the currently the biggest Achilles heel of the W205. The "sporty" suspension causes the interior to rattle and the dampers and tyres to last very little. I would like to see a softer suspension setup for the facelift and no more runflats, please.

Agreed, the ride comfort is just acceptable with the "Avant Garde" suspension, the lowered AMG line suspension is just way too harsh. The ride is never settled at all, and the run flat tires made it even worse.

Finally 300d.
Mercedes sometimes wait too much.
And they should offer much wider range of engines at all classes.
BMW do that smart. :eusa_clap

And what about the airsuspension? It must drive much more comfortable, even with runflat tyres.

No. It’s not good. It’s borderline accceptable. Mums C has it and it does introduce an element of float but the harshness in the way it transmits every road imperfection and and slams over harsher ridges is always there. I would describe is as ‘brittle’ but with float.

You would never in your life believe it’s related to the sublime S-class.

MB definitely needs to sort out the C’s ride quality. It’s a big shortcoming and quite unexpected. I had assumed getting one with air suspension would have overcome the 19inch runflats. Not so.

I find it difficult to relate the ride quality to any Mercedes at all. How does it compare with the W204 ?

W204’s suspension is much more resolved. At times it can be just as harsh but it feels supremely more planted, even on uneven surfaces.

Mum's W204 was an Avantgarde trim with 17inch 'AMG' alloys. It rode far better then her W205 does. Granted with 17inch non runflat tyres it did have a lot of rubber, but I thought it would would have been reasonable to expect the W205's airmatic to compensate for that significantly. IMO MB has done a poor job tuning the W205's suspension, particularly given the W204 was a class benchmark in terms of ride. Like the 'A' range of vehicles I hope they've worked on it for the facelift.

I had a GLA250 loan car recently while the S was getting its 12 month service and it too was more pliant than mum's C.

Do we know from any creditable sources or is this speculation? also we we have any release date when 2018 it will be released?

I hope to get firm dates on Friday. It will most likely be MY 2019. Order books are likely to open in June.

Haven’t seen much news regarding the MBUX in upcoming models save for the new A.

Does anyone have any idea whether the C FL will get the full MBUX system, or the COMAND system in the current S/E? The new system seems like a great leap forward, would be a shame to miss out.
