I like the RR, in an ideal world. But for real world applications, I'll take the LX without second thought. In fact I'd even prefer the less luxurious looking/feeling but no worse lighter Landcruiser.

Half of these are local cars and not sold in Europe in any meaningful way, but a Range Rover would suit you so much more than a G class lol.

RR for me, G Wagon second (but the Defender would be second if on this list)
That defender in Weiss … Mike drop

Anything German (incl the brit Marques owned by Germans)… everything else is milque toast - especially in terms of reliability.

That said, Doug Demuro’s review of the Jeep GW had the most amazing interior specs I’ve seen on a car EVER!

The G.

Like Mick, I'm not a fan of those things. I can understand them, admire their design or interior comforts, but they are not my bag of tea. I've never even seen half of those cars, but my latest (yet kind of limited) experience with an X5 and LC just doesn't change my opinion. I'd be much happier with a sedan than any of those huge things.

The G is the only one that's kind of interesting to me. It looks much more utilitarian than the rest, and it's much much smaller. I'd even go as far as to say that a G500 or even a G320 CDI would be a far better choice than a G63!

As the headline asks, my favourite is the X7.
However, in my part of the world and if it was my money, the LX600 would be my choice to own and drive regularly. As luxurious as the RR is, it wouldn't last long enough without nannying electronics getting in the way because of the state of our roads. None of these are serious off-roaders and that isn't the question being asked but even where I currently live, they'd all spend the majority of their life-cycles ferrying passengers through traffic, albeit in a lofted position.

Perhaps you remember, that I think of almost all modern SUV as being useless, utter stupid AWD stationcars/wagons, set a bit higher on their wheels. I do however respect 'real' off-road vehicles, like G or a (not on the list) Toyota Land Cruiser, preferably an older model like this one:

and also the Defender you mentioned, is a good example of what I mean. All other SUV are, no matter how big, mommy-cars imo.

These old Land Cruisers are the epidome of cool. I love 'em.

Yeah, the Defender is my new fav between it and the G class. Just a way more succesful interpretation, because the G hasn't changed enough. But I only realised that after seeing the new Defender, which successfully merges old with new. G Wagon has a better interior though.

And of course dat 3 door Defender. Goddamn hot.
You can hose out a Defender, can’t do that with a G.

The G63 ,by far, is my number one choice. It provides a unique driving experience unrivaled by any other SUV and has such an elegant yet muscular presence. The new Range Rover is extremely nice (N63 engine aside) and appears to be well built and would definitely be my second choice.

I'd take a Navigator over any full sized car or SUV.
First - it's a true full sized SUV unlike the European alternatives.
Long journeys with all 6 occupants having their own lounge chair + the amazing interior that's a spectacular blend of modern and classic/retro + you are still left with decent luggage space at the back if you opt for the extended version + oh that gigantic moon roof.
It's also great for towing and offers plenty of assistance systems (I'm into RVing) + has enough ground clearance to take on some dirt roads when needed.
Comes with a fantastic warranty that you can extend to up to 10 years.
Last but not least: I think it's amazing value for money just like many other American cars these days.

For pretty much the same reasons I place the GW and Escalade in a close second place.

Based purely on looks I'd place a G63 over any SUV ever. I simply love how this thing looks in almost any spec.

GLS has a great interior and the X7 is a quality thing to be sat in but ever since the Navi was unveiled I really don't see a point in these (for me at least).

Ultimate MB fanboy picking the Benz while taking a dig at BMW. Good to see some things never change.

Sure, I can also set my house on fire. A decently specced Defender costs a quarter of a million Euros over here, so I'd keep the hose for the outside.

The Cullinan is a different price range than the rest. As for the Bentayga, the official policy of the board is that it doesn't exist, just like the third Martix movie.
I know they are in a different price range. That does not mean they are automatically better/the best. Unless the poll is "What brand do you want to be seen in?".

Did you know @Levi68 that the Cullinan is classified as an station wagon by the EPA? That's why it gets hit with a massive $3,000 gas guzzler tax. Yeah, that big 4WD behemoth is an station wagon according to the U.S environmental protection agency. Go figure...

That's mad, a decent Defender isn't anywhere near €250K in Norway, is it vehicle taxes pushing the price up?

It starts a little over € 80.000 and ends at an absurd € 220.000 for a V8. Expect to pay well over € 100.000 for a more or less decent Defender.
In the Netherlands it’s all about taxes, especially when talking cars…alas.
