For the past 8 months or so my mom has been driving the Mini Cooper S with a manual transmission. I love the car. It has everything without compromise. Its ecomical, fun to drive, easy to park, great quality, and in its own way very attractive. Sure it has that cute factor that 8th grade girls go "gaga" over, but there is something very pure and true about it.
First off, Its a 20k doller luxury automobile. There is nothing cheap about the mini. Its interior uses quality materials while also staying within the image that is pertinent to its market segment. Its comfortable. I'm 6 foot 1 inch and I can easily fit inside the mini without feeling cramped. Theres plenty of head room and leg room for that matter-and if your not carting people around its easy to grab groceries with simply by folding the back seets. In addition to being roomy despite its micro size, tts gets excellent gas mileage. I can hold a cruising speed of 75 mph and be getting 50-70 mpg. But of course your thinking to yourself, "this can't be why Matt loves the mini"-and you'd be correct.
I LOVE the mini because it stays true to being the ultimate driving machine despite its ludicrous weight distribution, its FWD understeer tencdencies, and it being exremely economical. It is a car that you can take around any bend at any speed and be having the time of your life. Sure it has mild under steer when you step on it exiting a corner, but its easy to look beyond that when you have absolutely NO body roll and grip that lasts and lasts. Never mind the fact that it has almost perfect steering feel. Put in second gear and throw it around a tight hair pin corner at 40mph and you'll know exactly waht im blabbing on about.
