if this were to be 8er with higher performance and built, then it leaves the new 6er to be a true E coupe competitor? while this new 8er will be sitting in between E and S coupe?
And the spy photographers cannot be wrong? See this comparison, the door, the axles, ... I bet that the wheelbase is only any mm more. We cannot know exactly because the front wheel is a bit rotated.
This is the new 6-Series. I cannot understand that BMW axes the 6-Series as rival from the ew E-Class Coupe and they had one 8-Series as competitor from S-Class Coupe.

I cannot understand how (if the 6er rebrands as an 8er) a new 6 series which is sportier and smaller can be positioned with a 4 series still in the lineup
Hmmm... have a Gif...
Doesn't seem to work
Made it a bit smaller... works now..

So near identical in size? The new car already looks quite a bit sleeker, whatever it may end up to be...
The problem the 4-er will always have is it will always share it basics with a 418d poverty spec model, If you think about the comments made about the M4 GTS, many reviewers bought this up. A dedicated sports model 6-er along the lines of the AMG GT would't have that restrictions, it's not necessarily just about size.
t may not be the Sports car you expect but it could be the one you deserve
If you look beyond the M4 underpinnings of the CSL Hommage. Hypothetically You can see how such a car can be positioned between the Coupes. Although it does not appear to be as sleek as say the AMG, 911 or even i8 it certainly emphasises a traditional BMW Coupe but think seating for two(unless you are a contortionist) shorter wheelbase, lashings of CFRP and a more sporting chassis with a very Dyanmics visual aesthetic. It may not be the Sports car you expect but it could be the one you deserve.

Not even close. This is insulting (not directed to you)
I will not be surprised if it turns out to be close to that, if history is anything to go by.![]()

So it's a rebadged 6er then...? So is this car in the spyshots causing so much confusion because it was to be the 6 series, like the alleged "6 series GT" is actually the 5 series GT?
