Kurt Cobain just texted me from "rock n' roll nirvana": "Smells like fanboy spirit".

Both cars are exceptional and the difference in performance will likely be splitting hairs. For me it will ultimately come down to aesthetics. I personally like the looks of the F90 and am not a huge fan of the W213. But I will wait and see if there is any improvement (Competition Package) in the F90 M5's second model year.

I also believe that the F90 M5, W213 M-B AMG E63 (S) and the upcoming next gen Audi RS6 will be less than a hairs' breadth apart from each other in terms of depth of engineering/technical solutions, assembly/detail quality and performance.

Perceived eye appeal, brand loyalty and the degree of dealer accomodation will be the deciding factors. Will it even be at all possible to determine which of the 3 aforementioned is the "best" car in the sum of all relevant attributes ?

Destroying the E63s is all I care about, and that will happen soon.

About the only thing happening right now is you
sounding like the 15 year old fanboy when you first joined the site many years ago ranting about how good
BMW is over the competition. Those days are long long past now. Time for an update my friend.
BMW don't handle as well as they used to. I have driven the new 540i Sports package myself, while the ride quality was great it was an isolated experience in the handling department and many reports reflect my experience. ( it was about as isolating a new Lexus infact.) I can attest to that fact. BMW has definitely keeled towards the luxury side of the equation this time and I believe it will be reflected in the new M5.
It's probably not going to feel as sporty and handle as well as the E63s.
Problem is this is the run of mill M5 we are talking about. It's going to take the Competition Pack to compete with the E63S when the elements are dialed up where both will be at each others throats in the ring.
Even then the M5 CP will probably leave some desiring more feel and feedback from the driving experience like most CP M models today. The E63 will win on dynamics alone.

^^Yes,Bmw has changed a lot in driving characteristic in recent 10 years in order to meet the preference of Chinese market.

...and probably offer a harder suspension than M5?. What I've read the driving suspension can be harsh. These are big and heavy cars, get a M3 or C63 if you want a greater driving experience.

Please stop your arguments with the same damn conclusions. It is getting old.

So are you, I think we all know by now your so called 'pro' opinion about the cars in this thread. Give us something new.

I just did.
Comparing the normal M5 to the E63S is nonsense.
BMW should offer the Competition Package at the same as the normal M5.
Come up with a different view point about larger sportier sedans then we can start talking.

There has never been a comparable Benz that drove better than it’s BMW counterpart.
Never will be either. And I don’t care what that sounds like to you.

Thing is, the bog standard M5 will not have a hard time with the S version of the AMG. If not an S, better stay at home.

Oooo - nothing like a good ol' fashioned sweeping statement to keep the conversation going. Thank you @klier.

I can't wait for the first head to head tests. Either outcome it's gonna be:

Very welcome. I have to make sure we don’t fall asleep here with yes and amen answers only.

Nothing even sweeping about that actually. It’s a very solid fact.

No doubt. I am building up the tension here. This is gong to be epc beyond words. I so cannot wait for the inevitable thread!!!! It’s almost like Christmas!

To hell with BMW though.. first it takes them f#ckin forever to release the damn thing..And then it takes them another f#cking life time to let anyone drive it.

Hell the 5er is old news by the time they are done with their bullshit.

Just for that reason I pick amg they just shoot straight.. here we made a 700hp monster it came out a couple of months after the series car and yeah go nutts drive it slide it who the F cares.

M has always had this aura of penis hanging around it's name..
