I can't believe I've never seen this thread before.... we like all the same cars. Can't believe you bought the tank, told my sales specialist I'd like to drive one and he said they'd all been sent to Russia hahaha !

So Liz (650i) had some engine trouble this past weekend. The little check engine icon/light came on. NO error or warnings anywhere else and no loss of power. There was a slight vibration at idle that felt funny sitting at a light. Dropped her off yesterday. Turns out it was a crankcase vent valve? The valve drains the condensation (that may build up overnight for instance) from the engine out instead of putting it back into the oil. I have never heard of such a thing. My service adviser said that is has been commom practice on BMWs for about 10 years now! WOW.

Indeed typical of most BMW engines since the M54. That and the crankshaft and camshaft sensors.

I don't work for this company, but you may want to try their products for your leather. http://www.leatherique.com

You massage the oil in... leave the car in the sun for a day or two... then use the cleaner to take the oil off.. it pulls all the salts and dirt out of the leather, and leaves the leather with a soft mat finish. It would be great for your tank.

Don't we all haha. Mulsanne Speed...
I'd be happy with S550 Coupe money haha!

Yeah the Mulsanne Speed is the best car I've ever sat in. Nothing is more luxurious IMO, not even the Phantom. I would like to see a Convertible and Coupe version to replace the Brooklands and Azure at some point. Not sure why Bentley is dragging their feet on this.

Looking forward to your review Merc1 that is one awesome and beautiful car.

About a year out, how has the S500 treated you?

In pictures, seeing CF trim in a car like the Mully (even in the Speed iteration) seems off-putting to me.

We still waiting to hear your verdict on this superb car LOL!:D:p

Great car, but I'd need an AMG version. The base S550 is a little soft IMO. Only in Sport mode did it drive close to what I expected. That said, the rest of the car is OMG level. Interior, features, styling...it is the best thing Mercedes makes right now. I want a S63 AMG Coupe, but the jump from the 650i is huge $$$$$. I could go for a regular S550, but I'd have adjust my expectations as the 650i is just sportier, but can't touch the S550 Coupe in any other area. I'd need a S550 Coupe and a M4 to balance out my garage/life.

Great for the most part, but it is a 16 year old car. The auto close door function has stopped working on the drivers side and the climate control fan is out now, so it will be dropped off at the shop soon. Other than that it drives beautifully. I just cleaned her (Cora) up Saturday and I fell in love with the car all over again. For a road trip on smooth, unwinding highway it is the perfect older vehicle.

To reset the soft closing, pull the fuse for a few seconds. Unless there's a leak somewhere, it should work.
