Styling is a very subjective thing so some will agree and other will disagree with you. You have made your point so it is best to move on, also you can do with out the condescending tone.
I must apologize for prolonging this ridiculous discussion by continuing in explaining the obvious but I get the feeling that quite a bit of people here need it. therefore I ask if you could leave this post here, it will be the last offtopic from me in this thread.
yes, style is a subjective category in a way that you might like the design of something or not. but being able to recognize that elements conjoined in common pattern share visual similarities with another group of elements in completely other (but similar) pattern is actually very objective ability and is one of the basic characteristics of intelligence. and not just human intelligence. monkeys dolphins dogs, even parrots - studies have shown - are able to recognize visual similarities in different objects and elements of their design. something majority people in this thread apparently are unable to. does e63 6er have something of a shark to its looks? yes it does. does sarah jessica parker have something of a little horse to her appearance? yes she does. does 911s look like a beetle? yes they do. does s coupe's rear 3/4 have a whiff of laguna to it? most certainly. disagreeing with this kind of obviousness its base can only have in one of the two reasons – being extremely unintelligent or a trolling fanboy. anyone who finds himself in one (or maybe both?) of these groups please click disagree or dislike button below. that said, ridiculousness of behaviour of people who 'disagree' with me here is augmented with the fact that, all renault crappyness jokes aside, rear of the laguna coupe is actually quite pretty. why in the hell would you oppose to that lol
What a ridiculous, stupid, uneducated post. I'ts not about the "ten feet bonnet" but the axle location has to do with packaging, drivetrain configuration and weight distribution.
Please educate yourself before making a clown of you and insult everyone's intelligence.
what intelligence? intelligence that is unable to realize that drivetrain configuration, no matter how crucial it is to axle position RELATED TO THE ENGINE POSITION, is less important to axle position related to the whole front of the car than the actual size of the front of that car???? lol, there is not much to insult I should say. you actually need space for packaging, I mean dont tell me that the laguna's axle would stay shoved all the way back to the firewall like that if the front of the car was bigger?! because thats what youre saying. and thats whats ridiculous so keep your adjectives to you and your post. its there where they belong.
but thats not even the point, I honestly dont know why did you bring that rwd vs fwd argument in this discussion when I only clearly stated that 'similarities' in axle position, which are only that on the both cars axle is closer to the door than to the number plate work only coupled with the similarities of the back. Otherwise it would be meaningless which was way too obvious to need any mentioning. Or was it?
and about billy madison clip - I actually agreed with you on what you said but it seems that you somehow managed to not realize that and got all defensive. I find that very amusing and ironic 'What a ridiculous, stupid, uneducated post' lol
What I do not understand is why do people care so much about what someone thinks about how a car looks or whether it looks like another car. I buy cars simply because I like them and do not really care what others like. After all, I am the one earning the money used to make the purchase. Now if I was only making such a purchase to impress others then I guess I would be concerned, because they may not be impressed. Otherwise, who cares??
you completely missed the point but raised very good question. yes, why indeed people care so much about others people's opinions on a car's looks? why do they get all upset? especially if the car they are defending is compared to another pretty car. it really is pure ridiculousness.
