I wonder why BMW seems to love putting the reversing lights on a such stupid place (right behind the towing hitch) like what we see now. Reversing lights located as low as this will make problems when reversing with a small trailer (which do not have reversing lights - at least in the Scandinavia), having the towing hitch folded out, in winter time when the rear bumper is covered with snow etc.

No shit. Of course they are for others and therefore it is idiotic that it is placed so that it will often be hidden from other road users. It's a useful feature like the brake and turn signals - which is also useful for others.The reverse light is not for you, but for others.
