296 [2021-] Ferrari 296 Version Special and Special Aperta

The Ferrari 296 (Type F171) is a two-seater, offered as a GTB coupe and a GTS folding hard-top convertible. It is a plug-in hybrid with a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and its powertrain combines a twin-turbocharged 120-degree bank angle V6, with an electric drive fitted in between the engine and gearbox. The 296 can be driven in electric-only mode for short distances, to comply with use in urban zero-emission zones.
The good thing is that in few years we can buy one of the best cars of all time, the GTB, at a great price.

But I don't get why they named it "Speciale" if its not limited so not that special.

You can buy one now at a great price. The cost of this car is astronomical and I don’t think impacts 296 values much. The 296 is the best Ferrari I’ve driven, from a dynamic perspective, bar none.

I agree on the name, should have been something else.

I like this car very much, its the best new Ferrari on sale and much better buy than the ugly F80. The 296 Speciale V6 sounds great and the handling is super agile and responsive. It is however not in the same league as the 458 Speciale which in my opinion is probably the best Ferrari of the last 25 years with its magical sense of occasion and extraordinary sounding NA V8 at 9000rpm.

Didn't the mid engine flagship used to be like a challenge car for the road. This one doesn't seem to be thet extreme. However one reviewer mentioned that there could be an FXX variant coming. Why not? Porsche does GT3 and GT3 RS.

Yes. Used 296 have hit fabolous prices levels on the used market. Especially here in the UK where our RHD cars don't have high demand from those outside of the country. Many examples, even with less than 10k miles, have depreciated by 40% after options. It's spoken highly of by owners and the press.

I think the 296 speciale looks very nice. Being a tiny bit less track biased than expected might not be ther bad if you want to tour or daily it. This might have been the result of feedback from customers.
