That's just totally misleading, the points systems were dramatically back in 2001.

There was something like 604 points available to a driver in 2023 for Piastri, when Alonso started that was only 170, also 170 for Hamilton but points were given to lower places... reflecting that, the total number of season points for Piastri was 2388, for Hamilton it was 663, and for Alonso it was only 442.

Lewis's tally under Piastri's points system would have been 275!
Piastri's tally under Lewis's points system would have been 23!

To suggest their rookie seasons are remotely comparable is nonsense.

let's also not forget that Piastri started in backmarker Mclaren at the start of the season while Lewis had a competitive package from his first race
