Hot! Mercedes-Benz/BMW/Audi USA Sales

I was more upset over the decline of quality at mercedes, i could not care less about how many they sell.
But when they sell more than BMW..well hey thats just another thing to annoy BMW fans with.
And im always in the market of new things to annoy with:D

PS
I wonder when this forum will catch on to the fact that BMWs quality is declining, elsewhere in the car world there are popping up some clues of possible disaster, but its very hush hush here:D

Cost cutting comes back to bite you in the ass, ask Daimler Chrysler;)

Sad... but I have to agree.

A key question is whether CLA sales cannibalized sales of C-class in september?
The A3 sedan is already on sale in the US? and if I do the same question regarding the A4

That's because new generation is less than a year away.

Has nothing to do with it. The C was up until the CLA came. Sales won't taper off because of the new car until at least next summer. The new C doesn't arrive here until next fall.

Agree,..and even then, the dealers usually offer great incentives to clear stock, so run-out models tend to experience a slight peak in sales over the final few months. No surprise the CLA is taking sales away from the C-class, but better your own than your competitor.

Holy crap, are these numbers correct? 142,000 cars!!!! Damn you Mercedes. Those numbers are right in BMW's territory

Normally the monthly sales of Merc were between 90000-115000- units. Wondering how many BMW's were sold last month.
The carmaker sold over 142,000 cars last month, a rise of 15.9 percent, driven by demand inChina and the United States, particularly for Mercedes' A-, C- and CLA class cars, the paper said.

Usually September sales are very strong for Audi, MB & BMW. Eg. September 2012 sales: http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/global-sales-september-2012-audi-bmw-mb.47217/

I guess Chinese MB sales are stabilizing & normalizing, so we can expect MB's monthly worldwide sales to finally be closer to BMW & Audi sales figures, and not trailing behind anymore.

No Sept 2013 sales figures available for Audi & BMW as of yet though ... We'll have to wait a few more days.

Wait until the S-Class drops this month in the U.S. Oct 15th is the date. Going to be a 1-2 punch from the CLA and the S + the normal sales stars: E, GL, etc. The G-Class has moved more YTD than all of last year now.

This September Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles than in any other previous month. A total of 142,994 new cars were supplied to customers around the world, equivalent to growth of 15.9%. 1,062,638 units have now been sold since the beginning of 2013 (+10.1%). In the third quarter of the year Mercedes-Benz sold 368,201 vehicles and recorded growth of 18.0%. The third quarter was particularly successful for the company in the United States and China. Mercedes-Benz also expanded its market shares in Europe and remains most-registered premium brand in Germany, Japan and the United States. Much of this growth can be attributed to the compact models and the new E-Class, which was launched to great success. The new S-Class is already leading the way of new vehicle registrations in Germany. With its launch in the Chinese market in September its global presence and position will be further strengthened.

Never before has Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles in a single month than this September. The new S-Class is already the distinct market leader in Germany and Europe. Our compacts and the new E-Class are also proving hugely popular with customers," said Dr Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars. "Looking at the previous nine months, we can safely say that Mercedes-Benz will post another sales record for 2013."
In September Mercedes-Benz delivered 71,085 vehicles to customers in Europe (+14.2%), weathering tough market conditions to record an exceptionally successful third quarter (+14.0% on September 2012). The company achieved particularly strong growth for the month in the UK (+28.0%), in Turkey (+31.5%) and in Russia (+20.1%).
In the domestic market Mercedes-Benz had a market share of over 9 percent: It has now been the market leader for the premium segment in Germany in every month of the year so far.

In China the third quarter was particularly successful for Mercedes-Benz: With 56,992 vehicles delivered (incl. Hong Kong), the automobile manufacturer recorded growth of 26.3%, meaning that one in six new Mercedes-Benz vehicles was sold to a customer in China. Sales were also very strong in Japan, where the company handed over 14,558 vehicles to customers in the period from July to September (+32.8%). Mercedes-Benz is once again the most-registered premium brand in Japan.

Mercedes-Benz says September was best-selling month ever

Sold 142,994 units

Mercedes-Benz is proud to announce September was the company’s best-selling month in existence.
The German marque managed to deliver 142,994 cars across the globe which represents the highest figure in its 87-year activity. This impressive number was possible thanks mostly to the A-Class lineup (including CLA) and the heavily facelifted E-Class. Half of the sales were in Europe where Mercedes-Benz sold 71,085 vehicles, while in Asia they sold 39,013 cars.
Out of all Asia, China holds the number one spot with a 21.2 percent sales increase to 20,375 cars. However, Japan was the firm’s fastest-growing market as sales rose by 31.4 percent, and in United States they sold 24,697 units in September which represents a seven percent hike compared to the same month of last year.

The hard work of developing a range of small cars on their own is starting to pay off. To think that the GLA hasn't even touched down yet. The S-Class hits the U.S. on the 8th. Going to be more big numbers. What I need Mercedes to do is facelift the SL and make it pretty and knock it out the park with the next E-Class. Make it Frankfurt 2015 for both the new E and the C190 sports car.

I don't think so. 2015 C class is still in its prototype stage, haven't even seen a single prototype of E yet, E should be at least 2016/2017.
