S-Class W223 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.
It’s funny how close the 222 and Bentley are.
W222 was the peak interior design, especially the Coupe. Now all we have is these Hyper Super Pro Max or whatever the f*ck screens. Just no.

You also can’t tell which model it is. All the EQ models have the same interior.
It was easily identifiable back then.

The EQE have different doors without wood compared to EQS.

S coupe and convertible have the same interior, and yes it is probably one of the best car interiors ever made.

Don’t think that’s enough difference for 2 separate models though.
Also one of my other favorite interiors must be the W221. The following W222 was a nice evolution of that interior, following the same design but with better execution and newer tech.

Compared to the current S-Class or the EQS even the A/C238 designo have a gorgeous interior.

Interestingly they only changed the air vent design with the E-Class and E-Coupe but designed a completely different interior for the S-Coupe.

Exactly. The designo Editions had however different colors, brown beige instead of burgundy beige or blue beige.

BTW I own exactly this car on the YouTube video, with one difference, AMG exterior instead of Avantgarde.

From what you described it looks to be a stunner. Great taste mate. Have fun with it. We also don’t mind if you share some beauty shots of it as well 😂🙋🏻‍♂️.

Thank you very much.Will do(y)

I just found one picture of my SL on my phone. I would call it timeless.

LOL-I'm the odd man out here.

I actually like the W223's MBUX Superscreen. The nuanced cowl over the steering column is IMHO far more attractive than the tacked-on separate small screen application seen in the W214 or the skateboard contoured solution seen on the new MMA cars. And it is otherwise flush and clean. I like the vents too.

The problem is not the design itself. It’s a great solution for a full screen interior layout but it’s just soulless and doesn’t look premium enough for a Mercedes.

I suppose a legitimate question would be: What does "for a Mercedes" actually encompass nowadays ? For me personally, it should be meticulous attention to assembly, material and detail quality. Timeless, vault-like solidity. Whether this is packaged in the form of a screenscape or the more traditional, detail tactility enhanced environment could be construed as a matter of personal perception, taste. Maybe a combination of sorts of both ? IMHO, both Porsche as well as Aston Martin are doing this particularly well.

If I’m buying a car from a luxury brand I expect nothing but greatness in every aspect. Nowadays brand new cars are costing ridiculous money, so It’s natural for customers to have such high expectations. In my opinion Porsche suffers the same problem as well. Fully screen interiors just does not give luxury, or performance, in any aspects. Since paying so much money, the quality and the fit/finish must be nice, that’s not even a question, but the design should evoke a certain feeling too. The interior must be practical, luxurious, and comfortable. I do not find the full screen layouts to be practical, on the contrary they are fully distracting. The squeaky plastics are also unacceptable on a €100k+ Mercedes, or any other brand that suffers the same issue. Sure, they do look good, but they just do not have the wow factor or the luxurious feeling of the older models. Still, these are totally subjective. Everyone has different preferences. Some might find the high tech interiors more luxurious, and some might not.

Guys, let's ask ourselves what direction Mercedes is going in terms of interior design... do you think a horizontally arranged screen without even a hint of curves can be called luxury? The only super one is the one in the E-Class.

Well...not a "screen"...but "horizontally arranged without of hint of curves":

Jaguar series 1 XJ6. Back in 1968, this was called "luxury".

Actually, that wood is so highly polished that it almost looks like a screen !;)
