I won’t specifically pinpoint America as a whole but imo it’s more regional. Tesla’s are made in California where weed has been legal for nearly a decade and they have body panel issus, electrical etc you name it. The MBUSI plant is located in the state ranked 50th in education mind you there are only 50 states in America

The Lexus ES rolls off a line in Kentucky (45th in education) and there's been no major hiccups there. This is a leadership and culture issue.

NO THEY DON'T. You're just going on about nothing. Reliability isn't dictated by where a car is assembled. Sorry if you can't get that. EVERY factory on earth that produces cars has an issues sometime. Those would come under fit and finish, not how reliable a part or engine is. The components can be assembled anywhere, doesn't matter. Don't get mad at me because you're not able to grasp this.

Again, you just aren't getting it. See if you can follow this. NO ONE said that your experience was invalid. I said that reliability has NOTHING to very little to do with where a car is built. Reliability is something that is (or should) be tested from the outset of vehicle development. You can assemble a shitty or quality vehicle anywhere. Reliability is not determined solely by what assembly floor the car is made on. Fit, finish, assembly quality is more of a factor or varies from factory to factory. The engine comes from Germany. The electrics are sourced from vendors that moved to Alabama's supplier park when Mercedes opened factory, many of them German. Loose leather, misaligned doors, orange peel paint are issues stemming from poor assembly at the factory. The things you've listed are not that, they are reliability, which didn't stem from how well or how poorly Bubba put the car together in Bama.

As I’ve said before and I will repeat it again ....Mercedes Benz has the worst build quality out of the Germans!

This is very debatable as BMW and Audi as well as Mercedes all had numerous recalls due to faulty parts this year alone, Airbags, loose body panel trims, parts posing a fire risk. If you look at long term ownership and quality of parts, BMW's are pretty dreadful. I had a E90 3-series for 10 years. The first 3 years was quite reliable and car felt solid, after that I experienced a number of problems with parts in the interior and engine (especially the pulleys and belts for the power steering and AC). The interior plastic push clips holding the door trim to the doors continuously broke and the trim came loose on all the doors. The rear windows are held inside the doors by a plastic bracket (not steel, but plastic), and when this plastic bracket broke the entire window pane fell inside the door and nearly broke. I replaced the pulley for the AC and power steering on 2 occasions as it is made from a combination of plastic and steel and the plastic cracked and the belts continuously came loose and wining alot, obviously these were poorly designed for long term wear and tear. This pulley replacement was very expensive and a very annoying as my car was in the workshop for nearly a whole week as they had to order the parts from BMW and then wait for it to arrive at the service center.

I have one friend that bought the 2nd gen A-class the same time I bought my BMW and he hardly had any problems with the car, it was very reliable and its interior was still perfectly in tact after he had it for 6 years and then sold it, no loose interior trim and no wear on the seats.

There's no doubt these cars went heavy on flash at the expense of squeaks and rattles. The GLE and GLS models I've sampled seem to be better in this regard. We'll see if that improvement continues as these new models roll out.
