XF [Official] 2012 Jaguar XF

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.
The car looks better than the pre facelifted model. The front lights are sharper, but also are more generic in nature, just a straight slab of glass.

The interior is awful. The British press usually criticizes Mercedes for the wood quality and often say that it looks like fake wood. That "fake" wood is better than the "real" wood inside here. The dash board design and layout does not suit a car of this price. The German companies in this class have far better offering imo and the new Lexus GS is also close to launch. Imo this facelift isn’t enough to compete in this tough segment.
However the front and the rear are far better than the current XJ.

Oh I missed the old Jaguars so much, even with all the electrical gremlins the XJ6 Sovereign of 1980s, and the prettiest GT coupe ever, the XJS are the real Jaguars and competed with the Germans due to the Jaguar's immense beauty.

The front looks a little "tacked on" with its angular sharp look, in contrast with the very smooth and rounded otherwise body.

All in all, this great car just got much better. I loved the XF when it first came out, then it quickly bored me, and the bloaty "Volvo'ness" started to pop up, then I now really like it again, especially after riding around in my Cousins in Paris. Nice and solid car from Jaguar, smooth exterior look that will age well. About the interior, I knew they made a mistake with the "super-future-tech look". That stuff is all gimmicky frills and looks older than dirt once a couple of years set in. Jag fans can criticize Germans for more "boring/austere/teutonic" interiors, but there's a reason they go that route.... Because they age well, and have a timeless and pleasing nature.

In this segment, I rate it W212>F10>XF>A6. The top 3 battle it out heavy, as I think each car is very perfect for the brands they represent. IMO the best Luxury segment there is. Too bad the Jag can't keep up on the quality front, and I for one don't feel comfortable spending this kind of money on a brand with such a questionable future/ownership, and who's been passed around so much.

As pretty as the XF is, it is awfully generic in appearance. Remove the brand emblems and the car could easily pass as an offering by Lexus. A bit of a shame as it is otherwise an apparently absolutely stellar automobile. For me, the exterior design rankings would be: 1.) Audi A6=BMW F10 5 series...2.) M-B W212...3.) Jaguar XF.

As Jaguar prepares to launch new models like the XE compact sedan and its first-ever production crossover, the 2015 model year will be a relatively quiet one. In addition to the previously announced 2015 XK Final Fifty Edition (marking the end of the road for the XK), Jaguar is also making some key changes to the 2015 XF sedan for 2015.
Right off the bat, the 2015 Jaguar XF 2.0T has a new starting price of $51,175, which is an increase of $4,200. Along with this extra cost, though, comes added equipment, and Jaguar has ditched the previously optional Premium Pack making all of this equipment now standard on the “base” 2015 XF. This new standard content includes navigation, Blind Spot Monitor, keyless entry, rear camera, front parking aid and a 380-watt Meridian audio system with HD Radio and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

Giving buyers even more choice for 2015, the XF lineup has been expanded to include the new Portfolio and Sport trim levels on models equipped with the 3.0-liter supercharged V-6. Like the 2.0T, Jaguar has gotten rid of the base XF 3.0 model resulting in two equally priced models that start at $57,175 for rear-drive cars and $59,875 for the all-wheel-drive versions. These prices are increases of $6,675 and $6,875, respectively, over the base 2014 XF 3.0, but it adds more standard content that was previously optional.

On the 2015 XF 3.0 Portfolio, buyers are treated to standard luxury features such as heated and cooled front seats, soft leather with a suede headliner, an 825-watt Meridian surround sound audio system, Adaptive Headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels. As its name suggests, the 2015 XF 3.0 Sport has a sporty look and feel with a more aggressive body kit with black trim and black 20-inch wheels, while the interior adds a black suede headliner, black leather seats with contrasting stitching, piano black trim and bright sport pedals.

Moving up to the 470-hp 2015 Jaguar XF Supercharged, the MSRP is set at $70,875 marking a jump of $2,775 over 2014, while the 2015 XFR gets a $350 increase to 83,550. The range-topping, high-performance 2015 Jaguar XFR-S carries over with the same starting price of $99,000.
