Tops out at 330 km/h

German tuner Schmidt Revolution has released a power package for the already muscular Audi RS6 Avant.

Looking as if it belongs in Jon Olsson's garage, the hardcore wagon is now even more powerful as the twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine has been upgraded to a massive 680 PS (500 kW) which makes it a significant 120 PS (88 kW) stronger than the standard car. If this still isn't enough, an optional stainless steel exhaust system adds an extra 15 PS (11 kW) for a grand total of 695 PS (511 kW).

While the Audi RS6 Avant tops out at 190 mph (305 km/h) when configured with the optional Dynamic Plus Package, Schmidt Revolution’s version will accelerate up to 205 mph (330 km/h). There's no word about the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time, but rest assure it's lower than the standard car's 3.9s.

The first stage power hike is obtained by fiddling with the engine's electronics and it costs €3,499 whereas the custom exhaust is an extra €4,299 and includes valve control. The familiar body wrap will set you back €1,899 and there's an optional KW coilover set for €799 which can be matched with the tuner's 21-inch wheels shod in ContiSportContact SP in 295/30x21 tires available as a whole set without tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for €3,999.

Rumor: Audi Planning RS 6 allroad Variant Says AutoBild

It’s no secret that Audi’s been seriously considering drawing a direct line between the popularity of today’s popular SUV/offroad inspired product popularity and its 1980s era rallying prowess. Concepts like the R8-based Nanuk quattro and TT offroad have pointed the way to such future products, thoughAutoBild suggests it is the RS 6 that may actually spawn the first such super sports car on which to affix this genetic line back to rallying.

If the AutoBild rumor is correct, then Audi is readying an allroad with RS attributes. Effectively, it’d be an RS 6 and allroad mashup, with allroad cladding and the RS 6’s 560 hp 4.0 TFSI. The line of intel from Autobild also states that the car was created mainly with China in mind (thanks Chinese market!) and that it could be in market by fall 2016… which would suggest it may yet by C7-based.

Not since the first allroad with its 2.7T and available 6-speed manual transmission has an allroad product had quite the level of performance bonafides. Current allroads are more luxurious Avant with off-road flair than off-road performance beast. Likely an RS 6 version would take the allroad moniker to heights as-of-yet unseen in any allroad, including the first one.

Check out more information on this rumor at AutoBild (HERE in GERMAN and HERE in ENGLISH via Google Translate).

This is such an understated but respectable performance car. You need need pocket to buy it, feed the engine with petrol and feed the two kids who will sit in the back.

ABT celebrates 120th anniversary with 735-hp Audi RS6 Avant

German tuner ABT has prepared a limited-run Audi RS6 Avant dedicated to the company’s 120th anniversary.

It was back in 1896 when Johann Abt opened a blacksmith’s shop in Kempten and now 120 years later ABT is marking the milestone with an Audi RS6 Avant upgraded in just about all areas. The highlight of the tuning kit is without any doubt the 175 horsepower (129 kilowatts) bump for the 4.0-liter TFSI V8 engine now pushing out a monstrous 730 hp (537 kW). Torque is also up by a massive 162 pound-feet (220 Nm) to no less than 679 lb-ft (920 Nm) delivered to a quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Once the ABT POWER S package is implemented, the Audi RS6 Avant will be capable of reaching a very respectable top speed of 199 miles (320 kilometers) per hour. This makes it quicker than the RS6 Avant performance which can “only” do 189.5 mph (305 kph.)

There’s more to the tuning kit than just a power hike as ABT has also installed numerous carbon fiber body parts. These include air inlet panels, front flics, side and rear skirts, fender inserts, rear spoiler, and side mirror caps. The high-performance wagon now rides on the tuner’s 22-inch alloy wheels with Dunlop high-performance tires measuring 295/25 R22.

Work continued on the inside where the RS6 Avant has gained bi-color leather upholstery matching the exterior finish while the headliner and pillars are covered in Alcantara. The same material was also used to spice up the window frames, door panels, and the steering wheel. The dashboard is now adorned with a plaque denoting the model is limited to just 12 units while the floor mats and entrance lights show “120 years.”

The ABT RS6 “1 of 12” will be on display starting Tuesday at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
