1 Series [Official] BMW 1 Series Sedan [Chinese Market Exclusive]

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.

Thanks I will check the site for more interior pics, but it looks disappointing in this shot, a bit low rent and dated looking in my opinion and not up to the mark of the other latest BMW models or A3 or the new A-class.

It's actually really "cute" and would would do well in the U.S. IMO. I like it better than the current CLA.

The long awaited real life photos of the 1 series sedan. Styling wise, it is quite conservative and boring. Build quality feels solid, the top half of the dashboard and doors are made from soft touch materials, the bottom half of the cabin is made from hard plastics, as to be expected. The design feels semi premium, it doesn't feel cheap except for this horrible central screen. Interior is quite roomy, enough room for the average Chinese customer.

A little disappointed in this cars execution, there is alot more cost cutting evident in the interior, central console with very plasticky looking air vents, horrible central screen surround and the featureless cheap looking door panels. The styling is not bad but this car doesn't seem to lack excitement and not as good a looker as the Audi A3 saloon or upcoming A Class saloon

The car lacks showroom appeal, you guys can see from the photos, however the quality isn't as bad in person. The car felt pretty solid, probably feels just the same of not slightly better than the CLA. The car isn't selling though, I saw far more 3 series on the road than this.

If they make an M135i xDrive Saloon, throw a few hundred quids worth of parts (cost) at the interior, and upgrade the exterior lighting and wheel designs abit, I'd be okay with it.

Ignoring the initial couple of months roll out the car's doing a 12 month average of 42,000 a year. It's not going to set the world on fire, but 'not selling' is a harsh judgement based on anecdotal experience, especially given that your benchmark is BMW's best selling model!

That is true, the CLA is also a rare sight and Audi doesn't sell the A3 sedan at all in China. From what I have see, people still prefer a bigger car in China if not a mid size SUV.

So far it's only available in China hence why there will be a roll-out to other countries. Mexico is first and I believe Brazil is next.

Having not yet "experienced" M-Bs' new A-Class, thus reserving judgement until I do...

In terms of material and assembly quality and the precision exercised in its' manufacturing, Audis' A3 will be very difficult to top.

Sorry BMW fans...but judging by the photographs alone, this 1 series sedan does not exude "premium". Frankly, I'd rather opt for a SEAT Leon or Skoda Octavia.

I am a BMW fan, but I feel like meeting my meal for a second time every time I see a photo of this car

As the driver of an E87 1 series, I'm wondering why peoples pants are performing a particularly precious and peculiar twist over this interior.

Simple. The goal post has moved. It’s not competing with that car. It’s competing with other new cars on the market.

Entry level BMW interiors are not that adventurous, in my experience, they never really have been.. given that this car is 20% cheaper than a 'normal' 1 series, I personally think it's misguided to expect much more from it.
