3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW 3-Series (F30)

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. For the sixth generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate.
Precisely to attract cheapskates like me! :)

Quite interestingly the tray fits holds an iPhone securely in place very nicely. Not so with a Galaxy Sx which is too wide. You know what I do hate? "Say a command..." F@ck that stupid deaf b!tch. I've tried all sorts of accents and pronunciation - even Prince Charles speak. Maybe I need to work on my Morgan Freeman authoritative voice. Maybe then she'll recognise "dear-ling" [a basic two-syllable surname].
Try speaking mit ze German akzent, ja?

i still think even just by looking the F30 is a better interior for the driver, it even looks more practical but i think they really do need to do more to sharpen things up. Parts are too chunky everywhere and the worst thing about it is it has too many lines that doesn't flow the way it should. The aircon/radio control part is still like aftermarket stuck on, more so than the E90, and executed way worse than the E46. I don't expect them to do anything big though.

Although I must say, the interior combination in that car is absolutely horrible.
Would you be so kind to do another one on a (black) interior without wood?

I guess this has to do something with the BMW / MB collaboration form 2008, when it was agreed to share some parts (like HVAC systems etc) ... And that has which obviously influenced the design (form follows function) since the underpinnings (dashboard layouts / frames) are practically the same since featuring same system. Therefore very similar design.

^ Ok, we get it. YOU don't like BMW design efforts. Either that being interior or exterior ones. Uncreative, cheap looking, ugly. WE GET IT. Now, please stop raping us with your rants. Thank you.

It´s pretty clear, when you seen both the F30 and the W205 interiors, which brand has invested more on each one. BMW thought it was too expensive to put trim across the whole dash, and put just have of it. Same with air vents, which look particulary infamous, and same with the part of the door panel that comes with leather/cloth.

F30 interior is just not enough for a BMW. And the problem is that it is mostly a 1er interior with a few differences in trim location. The route to follow is Mercedes´one. The W205 can compete with the F10 5er in terms of interior refinement, and the F30 is just too far from that level.

I hope the new 9er shows the direction to come is better than the current one, and that the new interior style will reach the 3er as well, leaving the sub-3er models aside.

You would be surprised how many compact cars are shamed by the quality of the BMW 2er Active Tourer.

Besides. We are in Transition. Next week you will bear witness to the next level of "Next Premium" for a BMW interior.

I have to agree that BMW need to give some added attention to the interiors of their lower models especially. There's nothing drastically wrong just that the competition are offering more style which might be of no better quality but sure do give that perception.

Really Scott? And why the exposed paint on the window's pillar?

with all respects, I sincerely hope that this time is a major shift from the so called 'revolutionary era' of BMW's interior. From E65 to F01 to me was very disappointed, sure the materials and all are up to standards, but in term of designs, I feel it is such a down grade which later on expand down to all series. E65 interior was the the lead of its class and time, and F01 was some what opposite.
as much as I wanted to purchase 135M or F30, I just cannot stand the interior.

I think it's possible that we will see more differences with the next generation 3-series. When the next 1-series is in a group with the other FWD-models maybe the new 3-series to get in with the others RWD-models referred to their interiors.

BMW Australia is FINALLY waking up. They must be panicking on the eve of the C-class launch. The aged W204 C-class has outsold the 3 series here into its last year of production and the FL E-class is now outselling the 5-series almost 2 to 1. All because they couldn't pull their finger out of their A**es and recognise the Australian consumer want's more than a leather interior, bi-xenon headlights and an M-sports package on their 'premium' vehicle.

I had a look at the 328i wagon M sport package last weekend, the price I got was $93k drive away, I was shocked to say the least.
