3 Series (G20) [Official] BMW 3 Series (G20)

The seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G20 (sedan version) and BMW G21 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. The G20/G21 has been in production since mid-October 2018 with a facelift in July 2022 and is often collectively referred to as the G20.
Difficult to tell with the fisheye effect of the lens, but that could be the LWB Chinese electric variant.

As I mentioned before I think this is a mule for something different. It has wider wheel arches than the regular 3 and looks different in length compared to the 3 LWB.

My brother just got delivery of his new 340 first edition (1 out of 340 cars).

The car has gorgeous interior color combination with frozen dark grey exterior paint.

I have yet to test drive it but mostly not anytime soon, but I heard positive feedback about car performance and driving experience.

Hello,

A follow up regarding my brother's 340 M first edition, I took it for the whole weekend. Let me say that I really enjoyed driving the car.

Starting with the driving experience, BMW always manages to find that sweet spot between sporty and comfy ride, the 340 is no different. Driving experience is amazing, the steering feels very responsive and agile with excellent feedback. Gearbox is rapid and on sport mode it downshifts quickly to reach the required gear, its a but clunky when you remove your feet from the pedal. Power unit is so powerful that I even felt I'm driving a real M car, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km in less than 4 seconds which is M2 competition level. Power is available at all speeds, comparing it to the 435i you can feel the power difference, I think BMW did great job with the power train.

Interior is lovely with the blue leather, in fact it has the extended Nappa in the whole door panel and front dash which is a surprise for me, I think it comes only on the edition 1 cars. fit and finish is great, and interior quality is also excellent overall. the iDrive system is easily the best system in any car I have seen and its bigger improvement over the last iDrive. Regarding the instrument cluster, I have mixed feelings, its clear and looks nice, but I think BMW should have added an option to have analog gauges using the digital screen, in my opinion its not going to age very well.

Moreover, below is the summary of what I didn't like:-

- Use of plastic all over the car, the most part that bothered me is the one around the gear lever.
- Noticeable air noise after 80-100 Km/h
- Rattling noise from the sunroof, which appears to be chronic 4/3er issue. dealer still don't know how to fix it.

Lastly, the 3 series has raised the bar for the small sedan cars, its easily the best in its class and I cant even describe how much I enjoyed driving it for hours ! above small comments might be acceptable in this class.

The search function should still be effective, the only caveat, is you need to know you model codes!

From the main forum list, select the BMW forum as you would if you were looking for any BMW thread.

Then press the search option in the top right...

Whack in the model code, select from 'This Forum', then hit 'Search titles only'...

The result is...

It might not be entirely intuitive, but it is pretty effective, and realistically, it takes seconds.

There are other ways, but by the time you have to follow more than a few clicks, the search option is realistically just as fast.

"Facelifted BMW 3 Series mostly shows curved infotainment display".

It doesn't show anything. The curved display is completely obscured by a big, black cover.

Don't think the new curved screen, together with the removal of the dash buttons and the new mini gear shifter are a change in te right direction. Particualrly when the G20 3er interior is almost perfect.

Ok, if I want to see a particular Mercedes Thread I should try to guess the model year, then google to see if I find the code and then do the GCF search, great.
Basically you just posted a complex instruction manual to do a search that was previously intuitive and took half a second.

Hopefully one day this and the model lists can be programmed as they were before.

I can't find the 3 series thread, amazing
I really like the dash as it is now

Shouldn't this be posted in a new thread? I knew to expect these any day now, because BMW typically has these LCI changes defined internally within just 2 years of Job 1 (ie early 2000-E46; early 2007-E90; late 2013-F30). And sometimes even earlier, like in the case of the rushed LCI for G11.

It's the permanent death of BMW's cluster of HVAC and media/shortcut switch gear.

I don't know how his videos will be, but that expression on his face in each one he makes doesn't even inspire me to play it, a bad first impression I think is said.

Speaking of the LCI, it would be the first time that it would be based on redesigning an interior so thoroughly, besides that the current one is totally beautiful as it is, and as fresh as if it had been presented yesterday, so I'm not so sure that they will change it, we'll see

@dalab

He actually praised the 330e. He explains the differences between hybrid, plug-in hybrid and BEV. Very informative video.
Right, but the cover is important, that's why even less do I understand that expression on his face in each video

Would be curious to know what the development of the PHEV's will look like. Understood new G70 will get 5th gen. battery pack with updated B58 boosting power to 500hp. Curious if they will also increase power of 330e and hopefully, sometimes a B58 PHEV in the 3 series...
