E92 BMW M3 fitted with M5 V10

A BMW parts retailer in Germany has just completed a new E92 M3 project car fitted with the M5’s V10 engine in replacement of the standard car’s high-rev V8. The special one-off was commissioned by Bremgo, a specialist in sourcing BMW parts and tuning accessories, and the one-stop shop is now offering all the parts necessary for the conversion to anyone crazy enough to shoe-horn the 507hp 5.0L into the Coupe.
View attachment 208581a1df2c68c6347c5a7e18ab9a97.jpgCompleting the mechanical changes is the adoption of the M5’s SMG instead of the M3’s standard six-speed manual. In addition to the new drivetrain, Bremgo has also loaded up the test car with BMW tuner gear including a Hartge perforated leather steering wheel and AC Schnitzer five-spoke alloy wheels.
Not surprisingly, the car has been debadged. The only question remaining is what to name it.
This isn’t the first radical conversion undertaken by Bremgo. Their previous works include an E46 M3 fitted with a 543hp version of the M5 V10, and we suspect the upgraded engine may be the same spec as the one fitted in this new E92 version.

I did now. That's crazy man. And I'm sure there are more than enough crazy folks in the world with a lot of money who are going to do this, especially the Sheiks down in Mid-east. SLR/SLK swap anyone? :D

Re: Official Information + Images: BMW M3 V8

^ Looks sick w/ those ACS rims, not sure about the V10 upgrade, however.

Re: Official Information + Images: BMW M3 V8

I dont know, the car belong to BMW Sweden and the car came to a BMW meeting and someone there was told this car was ROTO tested.
You can probably found how rototest is done here:

Rototest dynamometers for true measurements (engine dynamometer / chassis dyno)

Thanks, good link. Interesting that they also tested the M5 (Powertrain Performance Graph for BMW M5 -05 (373 kW)) and this car had 475 NM of wheel torque compared to it's 520 NM engine torque. That makes a drivetrain loss of about 8.65 %. If you calculate the same drivetrain loss for the M3, you get 365.4 NM. So if it really was the wheel torque they measured, everything's good.

Best regards, south

don´t know, if this detail yet posted:
18" rims (260M) aren´t polished Alu!
they are coated in anthracite-grey
so in some angles of photos and dependent from sun -- they look like black :eusa_danc

Steved impressions M3 vs 335i:

Another point worth sharing. I was dwelling on the question of whether the M3 was better than the 335i in the kind of normal daily drive, rather than the kind of roads that play to its increased performance.

I drove along in 5th gear at 2000 rpm and then put my foot down to see what happened. The exhaust note hardened, and it took around the count of 1-2-3 before we were at 3000 rpm. So I see two bonuses there, firstly it sounds a heck of a lot meaner than a 335i, and secondly it pulled hard from low down in 5th. So it has plenty of big-engined grunt low down in the revs, and yet it pulled from 6000 rpm to 8500 rpm faster than any other car in the test (M5 and M6 included). In fact over that last surge of rpm, I would say it felt like one of the fastest cars BMW have ever produced.

So compared to the 335i it loses nothing in terms of low-down grunt, but would destroy it over the last few thousand rpm. I cannot imagine anyone feeling short changed if they moved from 335i to M3.

Re: Official Information + Images: BMW M3 V8

Amidst BMW's heavily evironmentally-oriented presentation, the 2008 BMW M3 snuck in. Yeah, you know all about this 4th-generation of the M3 already. Here in Frankfurt, though, the M3 finally made its public debut.

It's practically old news. BMW brass Norbert Reithofer's opening remarks made a passing reference to the latest M3, but the car's existence is basically a foregone conclusion.

It's striking, though, and the white color of the M3 on display really shows off the carbon fiber roof.

Ooh, looky. A herky-jerky M3 Simulator. The perfect way to barf up your heavy German breakfast of breads and meat.

Hey, if you can't afford a M3, at least get a ride in the simulator. LOL :D

Re: Official Information + Images: BMW M3 V8

I think it's just becoming popular again, by many brands, not only BMW...

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
