M5 [Official] The new BMW M5 CS

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
Looks like it will grenade itself any sec. Destroying an otherwise wonderful car.

Nah. Too much engineering gone into them. Porsche flat sixes are pushing more than this are perfectly fine.

In fact a 991 I was watching today the owners stated specifically this.

Maybe. But it definitely looks like driveability, usability has taken a hit. M5 CS is a gem out of the box. They could have left it alone and did the exact same thing to a M5/comp and got pretty much the same result.

Anyway, their car, their dime, so all the power to them (literally).

Oh trust me This is very extreme. I see the distinction about using an M5 "regular" I'm in complete agreement on that. This isn't something I think the vast majority would even consider.

In terms of anything seeing a BMW chase a Rimac down the track, we'll that's just a spectacle I'd never of even thought of!

I am thinking if these aftermarket tuned cars go pop? Have they started to include warranty for their aftermarket fettling? Some didn’t in the past.
BMW will void the initial manufacturers warranty and then tell you to go….

Well obviously they will if you've ripped the engine out of the car and replaced everything. I don't know enough about the BMW modified aftercare but I know Underground Racing via Proline Engines in the United States of America are rock solid.

I think the likely answer is yes they'll have extensive warranties and protections in place.

After buying Chris Harris' M2 CS, they went and bought his M5 CS too. And by the looks of it, this is still an absolute gem of a car. More to come...

The M5 CS was always going to win on a wet, greasy surface like that day. In as much as they can't control the weather, I do hope they managed to lap all the cars on the same day. I'll be amazed if the GT3 RS tops the leaderboard in those conditions.

M5 Perfection!

Is the M5 CS better than the M5 Comp?

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
